St. John's graduate transfer Tariq Owens just verbally committed to Texas Tech, he tell 247Sports. "I'm going to transfer out of St. John's and go down to Texas Tech," Owens said. "Just all of the relationships," he added when pressed on the decision. "One of the coaches down, there coach [Al] Pinkins was on the staff at Tennessee. When I got my release, he was someone that stuck out because we have a real good relationship from when I was there." 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Tariq-Owens-commits-to-Texas-Tech-117162011

Villanova assistant Ashley Howard agreed to a five-year deal that will make him the next head basketball coach at La Salle, a source told 247Sports. A press conference is set for Monday, according to the source. Howard has spent the last five seasons as an assistant coach under Jay Wright, where he was part of a pair of National Championship runs. The Wildcats knocked off Michigan last Monday for this year’s championship. They also won the title during the 2015-2016 season. All five seasons Howard was at Villanova the Wildcats entered the NCAA Tournament as either No. 1 or No. 2 seeds. Howard was the primary recruiter for a host of Villanova stars, including Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Los Angeles Lakers forward Josh Hart. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Source-La-Salle-to-hire-Villanova-assistant-Ashley-Howard-117136821

] First step in him eventually becoming Seton Hall's coach. Lots of their fan base want him to become coach eventually.

Experience coming back for Seton Hall interesting most of their fsans thought he"d go the grad transfer route. Still expect the Hall to be in the basement next year.

Corey Evans @coreyevans_10
Travis Steele and Xavier pick up their third transfer commitment within the past two weeks, tonight landing San Jose State’s Ryan Welage. This weekend they host former top-50 prospect and Syracuse transfer Matt Moyer

Moyer visiting Xavier this weekend got me thinking, does anyone ever think Georgetown will not only recruit but ever sign a transfer from Syracuse and vice versa? If Moyer does commit to Xavier it's obviously not the same since they were never in the BIG EAST at the same time. Seton Hall has done it with Thompson. Will Georgetown ever do it and how will that player be treated???

Seton Hall lost 4 of their top 5 scorers, rebounders, Assists, Steals, and blocks. I don't see how they over come the loss of those 4 seniors. They still have Powell and they bring in Thompson from Syracuse, but he's not going to be better than what delgado gave them. They have question marks at every other position. And I don't think much of Willard as a coach. Let's see if he can win without the class he bought.

And I’d take Willard over Ewing for in-game coaching.

That being said I can't imagine anyone with the poor sense to pick cuse would have the wherewithal to make and informed decision like picking Georgetown.

I said it depends how the roster shakes out, but I think Hoyas will be better than at least: Seton Hall, St. John's, and DePaul. I don't get why people are knocking Ewing's in game coaching. I know we lost a lot of close games in the final minutes, but that seemed to be due to poor execution rather than poor coaching IMO. I don't tend to read the boards after losses because it's painful to read the crap spewed here, but are people really pointing at last year as an indication Pat can't coach?
