Just hope the required science course is not taught by someone in the social sciences. Especially when I see course titles like "The Science of Climate Change.”

Changes make sense.
In terms of upgrading the curriculum the SFS could go one of two ways, fewer requirements so students can do more of their own thing or revamping the existing sequence to bring it up to date and make it much more rigorous. Obviously they are choosing the former(path of least resistance). I'm not sure what kind of diff adding one science course is going to make, but it probably can't hurt much either.
