usatodayhss.com/2018/mac-mcclung-drops-47-leads-gate-city-to-first-state-titleOkay, so the kid scores 47 in the state championship game. And he breaks AI's Va. scoring record. BUT, Gate City High School has 686 students. They are obviously playing in the lowest division in the state against some pretty weak competition. So, really how good is he? Anyone see him play? Another hick from French Lick?

The only relevant answer is better than what we had...
Thus, his arrival is good news.

If we are looking at GU scoring guards 6’2” and under, I liked Iverson, Braswell and Wright. Brunner and Edwards weren’t here long enough. Smith was good too. If McClung ends up as good as any of these guys, we will be happy. Iverson is the only one that can match Mac’s athleticism.

Another hick from French Lick? His school is not in the lowest division in the state. There are 6 classes, with Class 6 being the schools with the largest enrollment. His school is in Class 2. See: www.maxpreps.com/playoffs/brackets.aspx?gendersport=boys,basketball&state=va (You have to cut and paste the entire link.)

Markel is a good guess but I think he will have much more of an immediate impact than Markel. It took Markel a couple of years to really get going. Jonathan Wallace was a 4 year starter so my mind goes to him but they are such different players it’s hard to even put them in the same sentence. At the end of the day I am going to go with Chris Wright.

For His sake McClung better be half as good as many here seem to think. The pressure we are putting on this kid is Savior like. I'd prefer to answer the question sometime in December.

Agree. Mac will be asked to carry a big load because of the recruiting shortcomings of the last administration. Pat may still be able to land a good PG. Lots of guards in motion and we only need one.

Expectations:
1. Be a good teammate - with all the hype I can only imagine some current team members may have a bit of skepticism and possible jealousy (let's not forget Sapp-Wright) 2. Bring back some bravado/swagger to the Hoyas 3. Create some excitement for the fans and increase attendance 4. 8 points - 8 assists

During the live streams of Mac and Leblanc state championship games, Leblanc’s livecast appeared to peak at about 1k viewers. Mac’s seemed to peak at 10k viewers.

How good is LeBlanc? How good is Carter?
The answer? (no pun)
We don't know.
Learned a long time ago to stop following recruiting and the hype that comes with players.
Until they are on campus and play some Big East ball, we really don't know.
