Kid’s career got derailed there due to his heart condition and you’re calling him a quitter. S M H. I’m calling him a quitter based on him looking at playing at his third school in a short time span. You want to use his heart condition as an excuse to make your point. Not once have I brought it up; you do tho. He didn’t reneg on Arizona because of it, and he sat out the year to then come back and play. His transfer has to do about playing time at UCLA. So really you are the one who should feel shame for using it as a crutch. He never played at Arizona though Enj. I can't fault a young person for wanting to maximize the small amount of time they have to compete in college. Do you consider grad transfers like Allen quitters too?

Easy pass. Kids a quitter. He left Arizona commitment because of the whole Sean Miller paying players thing. So I do not think you are being fair to at all

Even if he’s not a star, we need kids off the bench. The trend these days is more transfers. Worth a look.

Kids played one semester of college ball and now he’s looking for his third school. Doesn’t matter, he’s not coming to Georgetown.

I don't understand how not wanting to play for a dirty program is being spun as a negative.
While I've never been super high on his game, he wasn't a Cronin recruit. He didn't fit. Nothing wrong with trying to find somewhere he feels more comfortable.
I think the year off really hurt him also. We probably haven't seen the best of him.

They are well known for being a dirty program. A high level recruit who goes there is likely aware of the shadyness. It wasn’t news for him the Arizona is a pay for play school. Nothing wrong with looking for the right fit. A handful of games and looking at yet another school should send up red flags.

Did this program not just get devastated by departures by players with questionable character and potential red flags? Kid went to a dirty program with open arms and left another program when things got a little rough for him...after a few weeks. Absolutely no way they should be looking at these types of kids.

I saw somewhere on line that two of the programs he is supposed to be considering are LSU and Memphis. I didn't really have a strong opinion on why he left the first two programs he was in, because there were some odd circumstances with both Arizona and UCLA, but if he is considering two programs that have been accused/implicated of some NCAA violations, that makes me take pause.

How is it that it is known about these various young men's character from a transfer new takes. Helpful would be the amount of time spent with these individuals so that it is known that the labels and assessments placed on these ones are all valid. The personal facts of these ones would be helpful. Many a labels are being thrown around.

His dad went to LSU and Penny Hardaway is at Memphis. Both are strong connections for the family. Not that surprising. Also, I know Shaq was in Blue Chips and all and was paid during his time, but does anyone really think dirtiness/paying players is what the O'Neal family is considering now? You think Shaq would risk his kid's playing career and reputation for a pittance compared to his net worth? I really don't understand the line of thinking that Shareef has been tied to 1 dirty program and therefore we need to be careful. He was in high school in LA. Arizona has been the best basketball school in the Pac-12 over a couple decades. Most kids choose schools somewhere near where they are from. Stuff came out. He changed his commitment. He went to UCLA, who had no indication of any improprieties. I know a little of that program. They supported him and helped him through difficult health problems. But when he came back there was a new coach and he was getting no playing time. If he wanted to make anything of his college career (or potentially beyond), he clearly felt he needed to go elsewhere for whatever reason. It is very common for kids to decide they need to transfer after not getting the shot they were looking for. It looks like he and his family are considering places where they feel like he would get that shot (it appears because of personal ties to his dad). So in summary, the kid played at UCLA and is transferring after 1.5 years with no presumed path to playing time. He is looking at schools where he thinks he'd get that. I don't know why we have to read more into this than is there.

Will he consider going to strong academic schools like Vandy and Georgetown, since there’s a connection there? The problem I have is grabbing guys because you need bodies led to recruiting and bringing in guys without necessarily doing your due diligence. And since the program just went thru a two week period that could be the lowest point in the Hoyas history I think it makes sense that the staff double down their efforts to make sure zero potential issues could arise. Nobody has a crystal ball; just saying kids that jump around shouldn’t be what the staff should be looking at.

How is a kid who's spent close to two years at one school somehow a player who jumps around a lot? If you don't like him that's cool but no need to exaggerate his history...

Looking at his third school. How many games has he played in college? We definitely look at this differently, as far as I'm concerned Mac is @ his 1st school but to you, he's at his 2nd right? He's been in uniform for 20 games but he's been with UCLA close to 2 years...
