Hard to believe Shareef is going anywhere. Grant Sherfield, and Jamie Jacques would both be nice additions. Jaques is local so maybe he wants to stay close to home but Sherfield is from Tx so he's probably open to all opportunities. Sherfield is GOOD, very underrated imo

I could possibly see Shareef leave UCLA but it really is a Hail Mary of a long shot. It all comes down to who the coach is that replaces Alford. If it's a coach whose playing style doesn't fit O'Neal's, he might leave but it's real a long shot. Not because he loves UCLA. They were his second choice only because Coach Miller at Arizona was/is caught up in several scandals.
IMO UCLA has tremendous leverage at this point on him. That leverage is location, location, location (LA is currently home for mom and siblings) and familiarity with his medical records. I don't see Georgetown or any east coast school as viable option. I doubt his mother will feel comfortable with her son across the country less than a year after major heart surgery. For that reason I think he stays on the west coast.
Since the left coast is dominated by Pac 12 schools, that leaves him with Nevada, San Diego State, and possibly Gonzaga. Not a lot of options. I doubt Coach Musselmen will be at Nevada next year (That's who UCLA should be chasing with their wallets open. Has NBA ties, plays a great style of ball and can coach and recruit. Musselmen or Coach Nate Oats at Buffalo). So either Gonzaga or San Diego State, and if for some strange reason Coach Musselmen remains at Nevada, then that's an option. That being said, Shareef O'Neal IMO more than likely stays at UCLA...

We have a hospital on campus. Also, dad knows Georgetown well.

I'm with Yaboy on this one. I'd much rather have Jaime Jacquez. I think he's straight up better than Shareef, will have less drama and would outwork him and I think he's tougher than him. He's also a much better shooter. He's not as long, but he's a college small forward and has enough length for that position. If I were Georgetown I'd give Jaime the Akinjo treatment and if he decommits I'd fly out there immediately.

We have a hospital on campus. Also, dad knows Georgetown well. That's a fan's perspective, not a parents... UCLA has a hospital on campus as well. I doubt I would be comfortable sending my kid across the country less than a year after heart surgery. Dad spends a significant amount of his time traveling to Atlanta and other cities for work. Also if his recovery is going well, why would you take him away from his doctors. So unless moving to the DMV is something his mom and family would consider?

Dad would trust Pat with putting his son’s health first. I don’t think he’s coming.

I doubt his mom lets him out of LA. I don't think the mom will be a problem. I'm sure he loves his mom but Shaunie is a big picture type. She would need to be sold but Ewing could talk her language. I think Shareef wanting to come to the East Coast will be the bigger sell. Hopefully Akinjo and Zo can sell him on the adjustment from the beach life to DMV life.... With him having a major surgery, I dont know any mom who would want to be that far away from her son. So what you have to be banking on is that she wants to move to DC. Dont see that happening either.

It stated both Jaquez & Kyman were sticking by their commitments, Sherfield hadn't decided yet... The original tweet came from the guy who runs Stock Risers but he must have deleted that one..

No one sticks until you know who’ll be coaching. Stupid otherwise.

I personally went to see Shareef work out for Gtown with Broadus. Great, great kid but will never end up at Georgetown.

Perhaps there's your 4/5 for next year? I didn't watch him any this year, but it seems like can play a bit. Maybe caught up in a numbers game w/ all their bigs out there.
Give him another half year to regain his form, throw in a surprise medical waiver, and...
Bingo! One down, four spots left to fill for '20-'21.
