Good game for Ewing to go to. To see both Montgumery and Hagans playing at the same time....

Wojo and his whole staff will be attending the game that PE is going to. Any chance Pat can give Wojo a slap in the back of the head when they are there together??? Wojo has done a good job with the Marquette program but he is still a really annoying guy!!!!

His 2 predecessors accomplished a lot more than he has in 4 years.

I hope that our chances would be better than Marquette Agreed. Ewing and Kirby should be more impressive than Marquette's staff to a kid from Georgia. That said, I can see Marquette telling Hagans to watch some tape and compare the two programs' use of guards. Rowsey and Howard aren't the most talented duo in the world, but they are very productive.

Wojo is in one of those tough situations where he's probably done well enough not to get fired, but hasn't done well enough to serious impress anybody. From a fan perspective that's got to be frustrating.

Glad we're making a strong play here. The Hoyas can be an attractive option for him. I see this as a win-win. Kudos to the staff making a push.

“He’s a special talent,” said Dan McDonald, a basketball recruiting writer for Rivals and the basketball program coordinator at LakePoint Sports. “He’s the more traditional point guard in that he’s more of a pass-first player, as opposed to the scoring point guard that is becoming more common. He’s plenty capable as a scorer too, but his unselfishness makes him really easy to play with and makes others want to play with him.” www.dawgnation.com/mens-basketball/georgia-basketball-ashton-hagans-decommitment-future-updates

Interesting article about Hagans' AAU program and its leader, Chris Williams, who has been quoted a bunch since Ashton's decommitment. "Adidas officials approached Williams in April, offering the chance to play in U17 brackets, which would provide more exposure for his players, as college coaches typically focus their attention at AAU tournaments on the rising seniors. Adidas and Williams spoke daily for a week until Williams decided to make the jump from Nike and the Georgia Stars. Williams said that the decision was made when Norm Parker, the Georgia Stars founder, made an attempt to keep players from leaving. When Game Elite did leave, Williams and players were taken care of well, receiving sponsorship funding – airfare, hotel, rental cars, gear – that is not the norm for U16 teams. Adidas fully stocked the team with shoes and apparel. Chris Rivers, the director of global basketball sports marketing for Adidas, said that he wanted to add a team in the South, particularly Atlanta. “The grassroots business is about talent, and we were pretty good in the ’18 class, but we needed some depth in the ’19 class, so it worked out very well,” Rivers said. Hagans, rated the No. 2 point guard in his class by 247 Sports, said that people from Adidas have talked with him about the possibility of someday wearing Adidas in the NBA. Another Game Elite star, small forward Christian Brown from Columbia, S.C., said that he “definitely” would want to play for an Adidas school in college. It was, he said, “a great move” to jump to Adidas. “Because they just treat us better,” he said. www.myajc.com/sports/college/the-aau-circuit-with-game-elite/K2Ps8vesPsyKkXy0z3FffL/

Georgia wears Nike I believe... He jumped from Georgia Stars to Game Elite which is an Adidas team. That doesn’t seem real promising? Why would he decommit from one Nike school just to commit to another, when it sounds like it’s Adidas or bust? What am I missing here? Recent Adidas scrutiny by the feds maybe but then why leave UGa?

Probably because the Coach that recruited him is going to be fired (Fox), they know it, and recruits really commit to a coach rather than to a school.

Georgia wears Nike I believe... He jumped from Georgia Stars to Game Elite which is an Adidas team. That's true but the article was written in August '17. He committed to Georgia, a Nike school, in December '17...
