Nice to see men start 2-0, though a 1pt win vs Robert Morris does not inspire confidence. I guess we'll see where they really are next week when they play a ranked team. We can stay optimistic until then!
Women get blown out by Towson, so it seems more of the same for them(somewhat disappointing, though we have been conditioned to disappointment by both squads over the last 5yrs or so.)

The women pulled out an upset over ranked Johns Hopkins and followed it up with a 12-8 win over Delaware (the Hoyas' first over the Blue Hens since 2014) to improve to 4-1. So perhaps not quite "more of the same."

6-0, up to #11 in the media poll.
Schedule not exactly full of national powers, but still a nice accomplishment at this point.

Nice turnaround. Lets hope both squads keep it up. A bit of a reversal of fortunes - men climb to #11 in the country but get run ragged by Drexel on the road, while the women claw their way into the last spot in the Top 25 and proceed to pummel Villanova, 19-10. The snowstorm has suspended the squads' planned double-header on Wednesday, but tough matches await regardless - the women get Florida, while the men hit the road to face Marquette. The lax teams got primo space in the Thompson Center. Long-awaited upswings are now expected. We'll be watching.

Hoyas lose a two goal lead entering the fourth quarter and lose to #3 Denver, 6-5, before what counts for a sellout at Cooper Field these days (1,230).
Georgetown now 6-3, 0-2 in BE play with five games remaining, three at home.

We finally beat Nova at something this year: 13-11.

Another win over Nova (#10 in the RPI) in the Big East semis!
The Hoyas were #20 in the RPI as of Monday. Would a win over Villanova and a close loss to Denver (RPI #8) get them a sniff of the 16-team NCAA tournament, or do they pretty much need a win?

After some really poor records of late, Warne built a very soft non-conference schedule to get easy wins and now it's coming back to roost. It also says something about the state of the program where there are a total of 14 posts here for the entire season. www.laxpredictions.com

Very exciting game last night broadcast on CBS sports. Boys gave up 3 goals in about a minute to allow Nova to cut the lead to 1 before closing it out.
Let’s beat Denver and see what happens.

If they beat Denver, they're in as an AQ, correct? In looking at DFW's link, it looks as if a loss to Denver would mean they probably need Cornell to lose their Ivy semi or something like that. I don't know anything about the selection process but if NCAA blindly follows the formula outlined (which laxpredictions seems to indicate they do 97% of the time), Villanova gets at large over Hoyas even though Hoyas beat them twice at Nova?

If they beat Denver, they'll be in. If they don't, it would be very hard for them to get in. There's only 8 at-large selections. Four of those are going to be from the ACC (Cuse may not get in, but they'd get in over Georgetown). There's too many other teams likely ranked above them. As for Nova, if it came down to us or Nova, that would be a tough one.

Hoyas up 5-1 at the half and playing tremendously. Big thirty minutes to go. On CBS Sports Network.
