Westminster Dog Show is on FS1. Higher ratings than a game with only bulldogs.

Hoyas should have won the first one. Redemption says we get this.

We win tonight...tickets on the delusional train will sell out! I think us getting atleast into 7th in the conference is very attainable now. Gotta clamp down on Baldwin.

Looking forward to this match up. Love the optimism on this board, but I think Butler has improved since our game as well. They've given the top of the conference fits and don't give up. Lavall Jordan has done well as a first year coach.
IMHO a win tonight will be bigger than the SHU game. Although SHU has great talent and were ranked high in early polls, they've lacked effort. It seems every game they play is one of big runs for both sides because they turn it off and on so readily. They can definitely turn it around, but so far they have not.
This will be a good game and hope the good guys get it.

This will be a good game and hope the good guys get it. I think it should be a competitive game tonight and if the Hoyas can reduce turnovers they should keep it close all game. Butler is not the type of explosive team that can simply run the Hoyas out of the gym, but they play smart, take care of the ball and let other teams beat themselves with turnovers and bad decisions. The Hoyas have been better of late taking care of the ball and doing the little things, so tonight should be a test if they can continue that trend. Keeping Kellan Martin in check will be huge, he has the ability to go off for big scoring nights. Hopefully Kaleb is ready for the challenge and can make him earn everything he gets tonight. It should be a good game tonight.

Lavar Ball has done well as a first year coach. Close, but not really: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaVall_JordanIf it were Lavar Ball, maybe ESPN would actually talk about the Big East once in a while.

If it were Lavar Ball, Patrick would be suspended for the rest of the season for popping him in the mouth.

I write for at least part of my living and have to double-check names all the time. Yikes, though! Big difference. I'm afraid this will only get worse as I age too.

They, like any team, can't afford to lose (or not have at 100%) a guy with Delgado's talent. Wonder if the knee will improve or become chronic. Definitely will hurt their post season chances.

Why isn't this on FS1/2? My sling tv does't get CBSSN. Apparently it can be streamed on fubo.tv which has a free 7 day trial.

Not true. They have been under-achieving since BE play. Delgado only hurt his knee during their loss to Marquette. Check out the news stories in NY-NJ papers. Somewhere upthread Glide provided links to their fan sites. Delgado called for players-only team meeting. Just remember every time we are thrilled, there's another fan base reacting. The Seton Hall fan base is experiencing pain right now.

I still think the Seton Hall win was bigger for two reasons, namely that it was a signature win at home, giving Georgetown fans a welcome and needed chance to scream, and it came over a veteran team with multiple strengths. Seton Hall is having a mixed year, but they have veteran strength inside and outside. I think more than anything they're "struggling" because the league is so tough. Their fans weren't happy Saturday, though, The family I was sitting next to talked about how they "peaked too early." I do think if we beat Butler, though, this would be the biggest week in Georgetown basketball since our last tournament appearance, possibly even longer.

I do think if we beat Butler, though, this would be the biggest week in Georgetown basketball since our last tournament appearance, possibly even longer. For what it's worth, the predictor type sites rate this as our toughest game remaining aside from the last Villanova game, and only give us about a 15% chance to win. Assuming we continue to improve, and Pickett has a good game, I would say our odds are slightly better than that. Winning away at Hinkle would be really great.

Given what happened in game 1, what happened AT Creighton, AT Xavier and AT Providence, I'm confident we can play with these guys at their place. Beating them is a lot to ask for but unless we have a big drop off from the last 4 games we should have a decent chance. My formula is Govan or Derrickson playing great and the other one steady, and Blair or Pickett playing great and the other one steady. That plus limited turnovers = a win. Now if three of the four play great, watch out! Sub-par games from any of them however spells trouble.

Although waiting excitedly for this game I'll be missing it tonight. The wife and I are doing Valentine's today, as tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and we will be fasting and tending to church stuff. Y'all pull the Hoyas through tonight! Hoya Saxa! Beat Butler!
