Pefect fit but don't know how Ol Mac will handle this. Couldn't Mitchell start next to Mac? Mitchell is listed as a SG on the top JUCO player list.

For the gurus out there, how good is Mitchell and if we land him what kind of impact do you anticipate he’d have on the team next year? Are we an NCAA tourney contender if he commits?

If Mitchell wants to come you take him. He is one of the players that will be good because of his age. It is a huge advantage to have a kid that was actually good as a recruit and will be a 4th and 5th year guy here. He is a CG like Mac but this would allow Mac to come off the bench and get acclimated.

Pefect fit but don't know how Ol Mac will handle this. The team needs two strong ball handlers next year. Hopefully Mac is one of them, but they need a second guy no matter how good Mac is as a freshman.

Not to point to X as an example after that choke job, but Macura, Goodin, Bluiett, and even Scruggs initiate their offense with Bluiett being the clear crunch time go to guy (except when Kanter is airballing 3's). There isn't a clear point on their roster but ballhandling & turnovers don't seem to be an issue. If we have combos who are better with the rock, there is no reason the job couldn't be divided up.

Mitchell steps in as a day one starter and go-to scorer. I am pumped about Mac for sure, but let's not discount Blair and Mosely progressing when it comes to next year's backcourt. I think/hope Blair takes a huge step up as a ball-handler and becomes the starter.
A rotation with Blair, Mitchell, Mosely and McClung would be a huge upgrade from this year's group.

Pefect fit but don't know how Ol Mac will handle this. no need to worry glide if anything mac moves well without the ball as well, just like his teammates setting them oops up in the air. mac will be fine and that would give us significant advantage for our bigs specially with derrickson and carter, because both mac and mitchell can suck the defense in and kick it to an open big. it aint far until we have an nba like offense and a few teams have been successful doing it like how michigan is utilizing wagner .. this would also frustrate teams knowing we still have govan, pickett and leblanc downlow

Mitchell will probably wait till the juco tournament is over and visit a few school before committing.

I dont know how well he'd take to being a back up. I dont know if Mac would be ok with this no one knows if it were to happen. Mac does seem to be a team player so if Wendell came he may be ok with it.

I been posting this forever but i do know about kids taking things like this if it were to happen take it personally as is they being over recruited on. Im probably one of the first ones here driving the fact that Hoyas still need another point guard. One who makes good decisions on the ball especially during critical moments and end of games.

Actually u could switch both on the ball and/or have on the court at the same time. This would be the best backcourt in the BE and one of the best in the land.

The best way to put it, would be to say it'll be better than this past years back-court..

Akinjo. He's a dog! I'm sure Mitchell is good, but Akinjo is a pure point and Mitchell seems like a combo and we already have a combo in the fold in Mac.

Hell both. Lol. Mitchell is more of a sg. We can worry about big next yr if we can get both players. Govan will be playing 35 mins a Game anyways. Then we'll have mourning, Carter, and Derrickson to play back up 5 mins if need be.

No matter what, Matt MacClung doesn't strike me as one who wants something given to him, and Patrick doesn't strike me as a coach who would give a job away. I think everyone has to earn what they get, every year. I believe competition is good and is an incentive for everyone to get better, so that the whole team is stronger. It starts in training and practice. Additionally this guy has had some interesting life experiences, and I think would bring additional leadership to the squad.
