I don't know how anyone on this board could possibly be against this, this is like our one true hope for a good point guard given that the 2018 top 100 is gone. Maybe it'll burn us down the road, but we could really make out like bandits if we play it right.

Maybe it'll burn us down the road, but we could really make out like bandits if we play it right. The problem with your premise is you assume nobody on our team would transfer. Good bigs like Govan and Derrickson who have never played in the tournament would be the types other programs would target. So while it might let you fill gaps, it is also might lead to other ones. This rule change would make it even harder for down programs like ours to comeback when your roster can constantly be poached. (For the record I am only using Govan and Derricksom as examples.)

This is a no-brainer, should already be in place. As for the freedom to transfer without consequence debate, I understand the fairness aspect to it and for the players it is a positive. And while I know college athletics has a higher calling than pro sports, the customer is going to suffer if there is no restrictions on transfers. I will lose even more interest in the college game. I have already quit trying to figure out who plays for Duke or Kentucky anymore, since the roster turnover with one and dones makes it too hard to follow. If every team begins to reflect this type of annual roster turnover, I will likely just follow the Hoyas and probably watch the tournament, but even that will not be nearly as interesting if I cannot identify a player with a school.

Allow one transfer per student per career
Student has the option of sitting a year or playing immediately
If you play without sitting out a year you lose a year of eligibility so seniors could not transfer without sitting a year.
If you sit a year you retain all your eligible years.
Some academic progress restrictions would apply
New school would have to allow student to finish degree on scholarship regardless of choice made.

This makes too much sense. It will never happen.
