I sold him the seats next to me for the Vanderbilt and UNC games in the 2007 Regional.
On the very short list of the nicest people I have ever met.

Tragic loss. So sorry to hear. Never had the pleasure of meeting him in person but have had a few Hoya related conversations in the past. May he rest in peace.

What a loss!!! I didn't meet him, but I talked to him on the phone, probably one of the times he was at a Hoya game. He was the spirit of Georgetown and will be missed by all here. May he rest in peace!

I'm Lost for words and truly crushed by this news. Greg was a Great person and will dearly be missed. My Deepest condolences to his family and kids. I'm happy I was given the opportunity to meet such an awesome person who loved the HOYAS as much as I do. So many great memories in MSG and in Cafe31. REST IN PARADISE GREG ...

Tragic and terrible - what a loss for his family and friends, Hoya Nation, and the world.
This seems like the right place to share my favorite story, as told to me by Greg (who, as has been mentioned earlier in this thread, got particularly up for games against UConn): during one of the Hoyas less-successful campaigns, his bulldog-masked self made his presence known to all, including the UConn bench, despite the score. Later that night, Greg & co. were at a local establishment when Jim Calhoun rolls in with his crew. Seizing the moment, Greg puts on his mask, approaches Calhoun, and starts barking at him. Two of Calhoun's bodymen grab him and begin to muscle him out of the way. Calhoun smirks and says: "Let 'em go, boys, he's already lost once tonight."
Aside from the fact that it perfectly captures Jim Calhoun as the gangster he was, I love this story because for me it captures what college basketball is ultimately about for us fans. Camaraderie. Fun. Life.
RIP, Big Dog

My favorite story including Greg goes back to 2007 B.E.T in NY. We beat Nova 62-57 in the Quarterfinals , ND 84-82 in the Semi's and faced Pitt in the finals. The outcome as we all remember was the Hoyas 65-42 in a rout. This is when the fun starts! After every single victory Hoya fans filled CAFE31 in rare form the entire weekend. It was the finals that brought out the greatest time I've ever had in the many years of attending the B.E.T. After seeing Mr & Mrs Green as well as Jeff's uncle a few times that weekend , Jahidi and I convinced them all to attend Cafe31 victory party with fellow Hoyas fans. Many board members attended and crowd of Hoya fans was overwhelming. As soon as I got to Cafe31 , I clearly remember telling Jahidi "Hold on a sec brother , I'll be right back!!" At that point I pulled the owner to the side and politely asked him a huge favor. I said is it possible to purchase that entire bottle of Grey Goose Orange Vodka. He looked at me with a smile and said he's never done this before , but the HOYAS deserved it. With the entire Green family in the building and the place packed with many Hoya fans , we proceeded with all types of chants from "Jeff Greens Mom" "HoyaSaxa" "WeAreGeorgetown" and the list goes on. The icing on the cake though , Jahidi and I asked Mr. Green if it was possible to call Jeff after the great beat down vs Pitt. In which Jahidi and I got a chance to thank and congratulate Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert personally on the Phone. Those who were there that night probably have a better memory of the other events that took place because at this point many of us were wrecked. It was the Smile and Dawg Mask that made this night one to remember and I will forever hold a place in my heart for Greg. He was a great person inside and out. One of the biggest HOYA fans ever. He will be missed. (Shoutout to GIGI , MEGA , Sir SAXA , Forrest , DTrain and many others from HoyaTalk .. I'm sure we can keep Gregs spirit going at Cafe31 this year)

Even Michael " Enforcer" Graham signed Greg's guest book on his obituary site. He was loved by all!

This is so sad. His posts really lit up the board and to some of the earlier references was a key fixture during the resurrection of Hoya hoops during the Jeff Green/Roy HIbbert era.
