I say play GW, UMCP, American, Howard, Richmond, GMU, etc. every year they want to play us. While it should be home-and-home, I would go play at their place (with the possible expections of American and Howard). Pat should overtly say that we welcome local competition and bring on the challenge.

If this is the alternative to playing 8 cupcakes ranked 300+, then I suppose it'd be an improvement. But otherwise, it's basically dominating our OOC with a bunch of local teams that generally aren't nearly as good as us, and it would leave us little room to play anyone else. A couple of games against these teams each year would be fine (and we have played many of them in years' past), though.

I would like to see Georgetown play GW and/or George Mason every year. This is not college football, if you happen to lose a game like that, the season is not lost. Perhaps it can generate a little local excitement. No excuse to not play these teams, if you cannot win recruiting battles against lower level A10 teams, the program is dead anyway.

As for UMCP, I have always been a proponent of that game. Both teams are usually good enough that a loss or win will not be harmful off the court.

There are a number of issues with Evans' statement that "fans of both schools have consistently called for a resumption of the rivalry" (1--I think most Hoyas fans are indifferent or at best mildly in favor of such a game; 2--"rivalry"?)...

But that being said, I'm in favor of this. Although I'd prioritize Maryland above GW for yearly games. And all such games should be played in Chinatown.
