No complaint, but how much did Jamorko play? too much...lol he'll be fine let him sit some and learn ... when he comes in he'll be ready ...we can't keep forcing him because it'll only get worse for him. ..

I’m pretty sure that, after that display, James Naismith is watching on heaven and wishing he’d found another use for peach baskets. Ugly doesn’t begin to describe this game. And, yes, Saturday’s game with Seton Hall looks daunting. Still, a win is a win. Big time shot by Jessie. Maybe reduce the turnovers by 25% wouldn’t be too much to ask?

Hey, were closing in on my 7-11 BE record. Two wins against Providence and a win against Marquette at home and we're there. Who knows, maybe an upset of Seton Hall or Xavier at home? 9-9?

Mosley, 13 points, good step up. Mosely is not a great ball handler but he’s our best shooting guard, which is why he was in there down the stretch. We don’t have any perfect options. Either we go for the slightly better offensive pairing (Mosely/Blair) or we sacrifice some offense for Mulmore’s better ball handing. Ewing methodically puts Dickerson in at around 14:00 into the first half, and I don’t understand it. His minutes need to be severely limited. He’s not going to develop and he’s worse than our freshmen. He really shouldn’t play. Disagree. He's not great but every now and then we play better with him as the point. I think his minites are about where they should be. I wish Walker got a bit more run though. He's great st generating offensive rebounds, tips, and steals. It's unfortunate he's stuck behind Derrickson and Govan on the depth chart.

How many turnovers did we have in the second half? My impression is that we handled the ball much better.

So he should certainly be getting some minutes.

We won the boards, 49-34. Our FT defense was not so good and Doc missed two FTs. As advertised SJU shot 4-20 from the 3. 19 offensive rebounds ... 22 turnovers though I think around 18 of them were during one sequence, and then we missed the last shot.

I like how Govan doesnt hesitate, he pulls the trigger. He has really taken a big leap. Impressive.

I dunno if I'd call them bone headed. He's being asked to do something he can't do. what exactly? dribble? Yes, essentially. You're asking Mosely to protect the ball 1-on-1 full court in a high-pressure situation against one of the quickest ball hawks in the BE and the country. Then, if he gets it past half court, settle the ball and set up the half-court offense. That's not something he's going to be successful at a good portion of the time - it's just not his strength. He was barely surviving when Ponds was pressuring him just over half court on a couple of back-to-back possessions earlier in the game (stripped once). Mulmore needs to be in there, even after that 4th foul. Pat got him back in the game after a couple of shaky possessions, but they still weren't doing enough to get the ball into Jon's hands instead of Jagan and Jahvon until the final possession Mulmore got fouled. They cut the lead in big part because Pat didn't sense the pressure coming, didn't make the change fast enough, and doesn't have a better press break to alleviate our poor ball handling. We were actually kind of lucky that they tied it up at 64, because they took off the pressure after that score (but then we just we called a TO). I'm not ragging on Jagan -- he played well otherwise. I'm trying to defend him, b/c we have guys who are better ball handlers. Not much, but better.

The better team won. We should have won this game. I saw a few minutes of St. John's playing DePaul over the weekend. I knew we would win the game. Mulmore is very limited, but love his aggression and play on defense (think Ray Reed and Jeremiah Rivers). I don't want to see those Uniforms ever again. I could somewhat tolerate the powder-blue uni's from the Esh era. But these aqua uniforms?

Both, Mullin and Ewing should return to the NBA. They have no idea how to teach fundamentals. This basketball game is a nightmare from HELL. worst GAME EVER If you need to teach basic fundamentals at this level your about 3 years too late

Try to get to MSG every year for the SJU game. Tight (though extremely slpppy) game brought me right back to the great old days of the early 90s when I was on the Hilltop (not our best years, but some good BBall nonetheless).
Highlight of tonight was randomly running into Ralph Dalton while walking to our seats. He's extremely nice. I had to have my 16 year old son read old articles about who he was, and what could have been for him. Great to see everyone who comes out to support coach Ewing.

Jessie bails us out by taking a shot that Im sure Pat hated. Why he doens't let him shoot is beyond me. He shot three threes tonight, one of which was set up by the play for him to shoot it. He shouldnt shoot more than that. I hope you don't mean the last one was the one dawn up for him. I would be fine with him shooting 6-8 a game as long as they are drawn up. Like the screen (illegal) he set at the end of the 1H that he drilled in rhythm. Just simple plays to get his open 3's at the top of the key. I don't want him getting desperate and just hoist up shots because he never gets to shoot.

Drawing up 6-8 threes for Govan is equally as absurd.

He's one of our two best 3 point shooters, derrickson being the other. They should both get similar plays drawn up for them. They are not risky at all excerpt for an illegal screen and not the guys love the shot. Give them 10-15 of them a game and watch the offense open up.
