I love his hustle, defense and improved ft shooting. Clearly put in the practice to improve this part of his game. Aside from that I read he is balancing all that with studying finance in the MSB. Impressive.

We still need him to step up more and be a leader on this team.

He is all hustle and effort. His contributions on defense go unnoticed at times and the improvement in FT shooting is due to his hard work. His outside shot is improved enough that the team needs to find a way to get him more involved in the half court offense.

He would be the perfect glue guy SF in our starting five if we had more productive PG and SG. On this team, he is a bit miscast as a third scoring option due to his limited handle, wiggle and offensive repetoire.

Maybe so. But have you ever seen him communicating on the court?

It would be great if Kaleb could step into that role. I believe he's capable, not sure if he's willing.

Wow is KJ struggling right now, even on defense. Probably trying to do more than he is capable of on offense. Hope he gets a boost of confidence somewhere.

Would have loved to see him block that shot at the end...

Not a boxscore guy, but does the little things.
He has improved. Going from not being used much, to playing more this year.
Like the grit he brings to the team.
Also is really good with his drive to the basket and finishing with a reverse layup.

Also is really good with his drive to the basket and finishing with a reverse layup. Kaleb is a glue guy who does the little things that good teams need. This years team is just not talented enough that those little things always lead to wins. He played that last play just the way I am sure he is coached to defend it. Get your hand up and make the player make a tough shot over your hand. If you try to block that shot and end up fouling, which was a huge problem for all the Hoyas for the last few years, we would be killing him this morning. Both Kaleb and Jagan have done a great job of defending this year without fouling. Give Cain credit, he made a tough shot, like he did all night, to win the game for his team.

He was the one Hoya that was consistently fighting and scrapping for loose balls, and he caused at least 3 DePaul turnovers, whether they were credited in the box score or not. He was definitely a key part of the one lineup that was working in that game.
It's a shame he lost his 3-point confidence, but he's not letting that affect the rest of his game.
Kaleb would be an amazing 5th option on the floor on offense, but due to our lack of talent/depth (and with the lack of offensive output from Mulmore/Dickerson), that's not usually the role he's in.

I'm glad there are some Kaleb fans. Do not understand why so many don't like his play. He has good energy, always active, and can create havoc. He forced some turnovers last night that supported that run. I hope next year he gets stronger so that he can finish plays with more consistency.

I'll tell you why. While he does create havoc is a leader in going after loose balls he is continually lost defensively was taken out last night in typical fashion because he's ball watching instead guarding his man. He constantly is destroyed by screens and seems to freeze making an over or under decision. When defending a pnr its an automatic pathway to the basket. Offensively he can score with a clean pathway to the basket. like to see him take an angle on easy breakaways he misses at ridiculous rate. i typically dread him coming down with the ball on a 2 on 1 break instead of the easy pass its usually a take with an acrobatic miss. Now that we have a sampling of BE play he can't take the ball into traffic at a slow motion pace and not expect to turn it over or commit the offensive foul. Now this may seem harsh I respect much of the little things he does he continually makes the same mistakes time after time

I live Kaleb's energy and his scrappiness. His defense overall was subpar last night, and his form has reverted on offense, which allows teams to play off of him, then his handle can get loose when he goes inside. He is definitely more of a 4th or 5th option to score. I really hope he pulls his defense together, that might give him more confidence on both ends.

I hope he is replaced in the starting lineup by one of the freshmen because having him come off the bench would be ideal.

Let's merge them all into this one where the name of the player being discussed is spelled wrong in the subject line.

While he does usually have 4 or 5 great hustle plays in a game he doesn't do much else well and those hustle plays cant possibly justify all of the minutes he gets.
