Pickett, Leblanc and Mclung all seem like workhorses. No doubt they will all get better and reach their once paired with Ewing. And that kind of work ethic becomes contagious.

No. Harris seemed a stretch 4/5 when I watched last night, but damn he was impressive. He owned Ayton. Don’t know anything about him except that he played with no fear and was awesome last night. Harris is sort of what I think the comp could be for Carter.

I agree with Jester, that's how I'd like to see Pickett develop in his time @ Gtown..

I'd love to see Pickett be able to guard all front line spots in the near future..

Pickett looks like a 4-year player at the moment. Of course, things can change. Right now? He has good length. Starting to knock down the 3. Outside of that, he has a lot of work ahead of him. He is a small forward with limited guard skills. That is a lot of work to get NBA ready. Quick question, who had better upside and why after their freshman campaign? Whittington or Pickett? Whittington. Whittington. And Whittington. Total no contest. Streaky shooter like Morko but better finisher, great defender as a frosh and a freakish athlete - way more athletic than JP. Love JP, but I was more excited about Whittington than any player at GU since Iverson. If he had his head on straight, he could have been a top-5 pick. I think he was that talented. Exactly as Way says, right now Jamorko while long and occasionally deadly from 3 does literally nothing else at a marginal NBA level, much less 2-and-done levels.

Interesting. He looked bigger than 6’7” . He was also quite long. He looked bigger than Pickett to me last night. Maybe Pickett should study his game and see what he can pick up.

Harris has a great first step outstanding handle and great hops that Jamarko could only dream about. I still think he's playing out of position much of the time at the 2. He kind of reminds me of a poor mans Anthony Jones making the transition to Guard at UNLV.

He's good but you guys are overreacting a bit right now.... What coach decides Ayton should be covering that guy?
Ayton can move his feet well but a skilled multidimensional SF like Harris is no match for him. Arizona decided to double down on big and bigger all year and they got burned.

Harris is sort of what I think the comp could be for Carter. I think that was actually my point. Here is a guy who we agree is the same physical dimension than Jamorko but such a gap in skillset - and he isn't even sniffing the NBA likely (will be interesting to see next games). Harris has a much better handle, and a great nose for ball, and shoots great threes. I don't think Jamorko will have his skillset next year, but comparing the two, Pcikett has more of a midrange game, is also good (stroke) from three, but adding interior toughness defensively, a better handle to create off the bounce should be what Jamorko should be looking at if we compare the two. Harris is no slouch - he started out not really recruited (17th best in NC though) and prior to Buffulo was the #2 JuCo Player in the country.

Don’t care about Harris. I can tell you Mr. Pickett will make a jump like you will not believe next season. The kid has it all. Enjoy him next season because I believe he will be NBA bound. Imagine him with a PG and a SG that can break down a guy and kick out for open looks? Pickett is nasty.

He will improve, not sure I see an NBA player yet. He did just go 0-7 in his last game To me he needs to show more handle - I think he will have the oppty to showcase a shot with a PG, but looking forward to more diversity in his game.

Hope he stays and truly develop into a lottery pick. I am a little bit upset with Marcus; he would have been a lottery pick if he had stayed his senior year. I can't say that I blame Govan for testing the waters.

MOD NOTE: I moved 4 posts responding to the comment about Marcus Derrickson in the preceding post to the Derrickson thread. Let's discuss that topic there rather than in the Jamorko Picket thread. Thanks.

Pickett has to be ecstatic about the news. Now he has two PGs coming in to get him the ball. Add in their ability to score as well, he should have plenty of open 3s. Work on the pump fake!

Pump fake, plus strength and ball handling. Improvement in these areas will pay huge dividends. Can't just run summer league games (although those are fun and necessary). Have to put time into the gym and specific drills to address weaknesses. Go get'em this summer, Morko!!
