Marquette is now an injury away from battling us & DePaul for the 8 spot.

Marquette is now an injury away from battling us & DePaul for the 8 spot. They were already there before Cheatham's departure. They can't defend at all and are completely reliant on the 3 ball. Had heard his leaving was a possibility last spring and into the summer. I go way back with his personal trainer. He was struggling on the court this season not playing up to his potential as the issue (s) seemed to be weighing on him. Good luck to the young man in his future decisions and endeavors.

Yeah, Howard & Rowsey having been carrying the load. I though this would be his year also, but he seemed to regress.

They're thin, but they've been putting up massive numbers against good teams. And they're not even shooting that great from 3 (that 1st half against LSU, though... ). Howard, Rowsey, and Hauser are going to put up 50 points between them almost every night. We're not gonna be getting that type of consistency any time soon (against non-cupcakes).

Now that Cheatham's gone, I trust Pat to come up with a game plan specifically designed to take advantage of MU's weaknesses and mismatches... refreshing idea! We're lucky that we catch the away MU game on Dec. 30th with students on break. IIRC playing at Marquette was a L for JT3. Fresh start.
Edit: In 13 years as coach, JT3 only managed to win twice in Marquette... both OT w's.

We're not gonna be getting that type of consistency any time soon (against non-cupcakes). First of all LSU isn't a good team. After those 3 players, where else do they get points? Who else is going to score for them? Marquette can't stop anyone from putting up points. They are going to need more than 50 combined points in every game from the 3 of them to just be competitive because teams are going to score a lot against them...

That timeline puts his availability in question for the Georgetown-Butler game (4 weeks from today).

That timeline puts his availability in question for the Georgetown-Butler game (4 weeks from today). Doubt he plays. Is the game home or away?

Watched some of the Provy--Rider game and was not impressed by Providence. They do not seem to have a Hoya killer, i.e. a quick penetrating guard. Might be a BE win at home.
