Are there any Congressmen dumber than Louis Gohmert and Jim Jordan? In a week where Maxine Waters is in the news? Really?

It’s time for the country to hear from FBI agent Peter Strzok. The Justice Department inspector general’s report on the FBI’s handling of the Clinton email investigation criticized Strzok, who worked on that investigation and also on the FBI probe of Russian interference with the 2016 election. The report says Strzok muddied the credibility of the Clinton case by exchanging anti-Trump text messages with his girlfriend, then-FBI attorney Lisa Page. He testified in a closed session before the House Oversight and Judiciary committees on Wednesday. The president and his supporters argue that Strzok’s early involvement in the Russia probe taints the entire investigation. On Thursday Trump tweeted that Strzok “was given poor marks on yesterday’s closed-door testimony” and that Strzok’s role in the Russia investigation was further evidence of the “witch hunt” against him. But although the president himself had called for Strzok’s testimony to be public, Congress did not agree. Strzok certainly doesn’t act like someone with anything to hide. He offered to testify publicly and without a subpoena. He didn’t take the Fifth or demand immunity. Unlike the president in his dealings with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, Strzok did not haggle for months over the terms or scope of an interview. Nevertheless, Congress first threatened to subpoena him unnecessarily and then chose to keep his testimony under wraps. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/why-are-republicans-hiding-peter-strzoks-testimony/2018/06/29/8ac02ade-7bbe-11e8-93cc-6d3beccdd7a3_story.html?utm_term=.76303a3b6145

President Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen stated that he will "put family and country first" over any allegiance to Trump amid his ongoing legal woes in an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos — Cohen's first since the FBI raided his home and offices in April. Cohen suggested he may cooperate with federal authorities, stating that his family is his "first priority." He added, "Once I understand what charges might be filed against me, if any at all, I will defer to my new counsel, Guy Petrillo, for guidance." "I will not be a punching bag as part of anyone’s defense strategy. I am not a villain of this story, and I will not allow others to try to depict me that way." www.axios.com/michael-cohen-interview-abc-news-donald-trump-russia-mueller-9a46ce5d-5750-42bd-b1ac-586ccf0f49c4.htmlPresident Trump’s longtime lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen signaled in a new interview a willingness to cooperate with federal prosecutors, even if doing so undercuts the interests of the president. “I don’t like the term ‘witch hunt,’” Cohen said, taking issue with the way Trump has characterized Mueller’s investigation into Russia interference in the 2016 election and possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia. “As an American, I repudiate Russia’s or any other foreign government’s attempt to interfere or meddle in our democratic process, and I would call on all Americans to do the same,” Cohen said. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-lawyer-michael-cohen-says-his-family-not-the-president-is-his-first-loyalty/2018/07/02/e33fd376-7ddf-11e8-b660-4d0f9f0351f1_story.html?utm_term=.3be39c999fcd

Ot but check this out...
This also serves as a reminder that the Starr investigation was openly partisan in a way that makes the Mueller investigation look like it’s from a different planet. Starr investigators just chillin at Laura Ingraham’s place to watch their target give a political speech.

I'm starting to think that this is one of the criteria for being named a member of the Trump team.

Wittes more nuanced view of Kavanaugh's supposed "the President is above the law" stance. BLUF: To me, however, the far more salient fact is that Kavanaugh has articulated a vision of a legitimate and appropriate investigation under our constitutional scheme and that it looks so much like the Mueller structure—and that he believes that the president of the United States has no common-law privileges before such an investigation. That is bad news for President Trump if Kavanaugh gets confirmed and finds himself ruling on any number of Mueller-generated questions. www.lawfareblog.com/brett-kavanaugh-and-mueller-investigation-what-do-his-writings-really-say

Says he talked to Don JR before the meeting and he knew what was up... They are still lying about this meeting... The Kremlin had by any definition a Russian asset, Manafort as Trump's campaign manager. After saying they had "no contacts" it has been revealed that was a lie and they had interacted with Russians at least 32 times throughout the campaign." wapo.st/2yUMd8r?tid=ss_tw&utm_term=.c305c09d6e2a

Peter Strzok is being asked by Republican Members of Congress to read his 2016 texts about Donald Trump out loud.
I wish he would ask them to reciprocate and read their 2016 texts about Donald Trump out loud.

Peter Strzok is being asked by Republican Members of Congress to read his 2016 texts about Donald Trump out loud. I wish he would ask them to reciprocate and read their 2016 texts about Donald Trump out loud. Actually, Gerald Connolly (D-VA) did just that. He read a numerous quotes by various Republican Senators and Congressmen who criticized Trump, told him to drop out and that he couldn't win, etc. and asked Strzok whether he wrote those with the consistent answer of "no". Connolly then revealed the source of the quotes. Gomert and Jordan -- biggest clowns in existence especially Jordan with his faux populist "I don't wear a jacket" look. The one fact that these clowns can't rebut from his submitted testimony: “In the summer of 2016,” Strzok wrote, “I was one of a handful of people who knew the details of Russian election interference and its possible connections with members of the Trump campaign. This information had the potential to derail, and quite possibly, defeat Mr. Trump. But the thought of exposing that information never crossed my mind.” www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2018/07/12/peter-strzok-just-gave-a-hard-to-rebut-defense-of-the-objectivity-of-the-russia-investigations-origins/?utm_term=.46ce199ce17d

Let's see, Trump the candidate July 27, 2016: “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr. Trump said during a news conference here in an apparent reference to Mrs. Clinton’s deleted emails. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.” See page 7-8, Para. 22 of indictment where spearphishing attempt on Clinton on or about July 27, 2016. But I guess that's just a coincidence. Right, all you "fully enforce all the laws" folks? Quite the "witch hunt" that's turning up many witches. www.lawfareblog.com/document-special-counsel-indicts-12-russian-intelligence-officers-hacking-dnc-and-clinton-campaignThe clowns of the GOP at that hearing yesterday look even more clownish.
