My prediction, Last 3 will be us, UCLA and Florida. That is a strange mix of schools going after Evans. I would tend to agree that the Hoyas, along with UCLA and Florida, seem to stand out from many of the other schools. It would be big for Georgetown to land a highly rated local kid like Evans.

This kid reminds me of Otto. Same posture, restrained athleticism, shooting stroke (only hope it's as consistent), quality all around offensive game.
Size obviously not the same. Evans seems to be a strict wing guy, where Porter was a bit taller/longer and could handle himself defensively against most college bigs.
But looks like a very good kid to have an early relationship with -- especially since he's a local.

I like how Che Evans is handling his recruiting. He is taking full advantage of the new rules allowing Junior class recruits to take OV'S. Evans has cut his list to 10 and if managed right, he will be able to see all 10 schools via OV's (Five OV's each year) and make a very informed decision...

Five each year starting their Junior year. They do not carry over. A student-athlete can visit the same school on an OV twice as long as the visits are a year apart. Part of the new rules passed in August. That's why so many juniors are taking OV's now...

Wouldn't we prefer to have an official visit next year rather than this year? Visits from junior year if a kid is visiting 10 schools can seem like ancient history.

I’d rather he just commit now, not worry about OV’s.

I have seen this kid play a ton. The tools are all there. But this kid with that body isn't dominating Baltimore County basketball, which isn't all that good and a huge red flag. This kid as an 8th or 9th grader looked like a future 5 star. His dream school MD and UVA completely backed off after last year.
He plays a bit passive and soft on the court, decision making is suspect. I think it's a mistake that they have kept him at Dulaney, he needed to go private school and had chances to go WCAC but chose to stay. The competition could have toughened him up.
Physical tools are all there but when you watch him live you end up shaking your head. Not saying we shouldn't go after him, we should. Just saying his ranking is more a reflection of physical traits and past hype than current play.

Just saying his ranking is more a reflection of physical traits and past hype than current play. I think it all depends on his interest in learning and growing. What Che lacks is square in line with what Ewing builds out (we saw him with Derrickson last year and with some of the guards). In the DMV Baltimore area player have a reputation of flashy game, not so much team players, missing well-rounded basketball IQ, and often a bit soft. This isn't a blanket that covers all players, but it common enough to hold up. With other players Patrick has had in-home visits with and OVs he has been letting them know what they need to work on and how to step up their game. He seems interested in growing players and seems to be looking for players that want to improve. Having Che keep the Hoyas in his cut down to 10, he seems to be at least okay with being pushed to grow and improve, if not wanting it.

All of these recruits look great in the highlight films but you can't really tell that much about their complete game unless you see them play for a couple of games in person.

If he had put it all together we truthfully wouldn't have a shot. He's been under the microscope for awhile, those kids get scrutinized more than the kids who just emerged.

Sounds like Andre Rafus without the attitude - seems like a good kid at least.
