Still no Kentucky, huh? Shocking. Cue Kansas self imposing some penalties. Or, equally likely, denying all of it and eventually getting a light slap on the wrist. Penalized one student manager per year for three years. And Bill Self can only use generic hair product for two.

Source: KU, Self hit with major NCAA violations
ExcerptsAccording to sources, of utmost concern to the NCAA enforcement staff is the Kansas coaching staff's relationship with Adidas and its employees. The sneaker company was at the center of a federal investigation into bribes and other corruption in college basketball over the past two years. The Jayhawks are the company's flagship program and signed a 14-year, $196 million apparel and sponsorship extension in April.
Earlier this month, former Adidas consultant T.J. Gassnola was sentenced to probation and fined for his role in pay-for-play schemes to steer recruits to Kansas and other Adidas-sponsored programs.
During closing arguments in a federal criminal case in New York in October, an attorney for former Adidas executive James Gatto told a jury that his client approved a $20,000 payment to current Kansas player Silvio De Sousa's guardian only after Self and Jayhawks assistant Kurtis Townsend requested the payment through Gassnola.georgetown.forums.rivals.com/threads/ku-self-ncaa.17301/

Reads like a “f*** you” to the NCAA, including Self’s comments.

To be fair, that is pretty much every school's initial statement after the first notice of violations.

From the Kansas City Star: "When word of the allegations first surfaced, we urged the coach and Kansas to be fully transparent with the NCAA and the public as the probe unfolds. Kansans must be absolutely confident that KU’s athletic programs abide by the letter, and the spirit, of laws and NCAA regulations. Any attempt by KU to delay, obfuscate or otherwise hinder a full investigation would be unacceptable. At the same time, the NCAA has a serious responsibility, too. The organization must demonstrate a willingness to present all the evidence for public scrutiny and to prove facts beyond any reasonable doubt. The NCAA has presented a stunning bill of particulars against KU and has threatened it with extraordinary sanctions. The allegations already have damaged the university — damage that cannot be undone. The NCAA has as much on the line as Kansas. Finally, Adidas — the shoe and sportswear company at the center of the national scandal — must answer for its actions, and those of its employees and associates. The company should not escape sanctions for any aberrant behavior." "The school should be held responsible for its actions, no more and no less. All Kansans have a right to expect that." www.kansascity.com/opinion/editorials/article235245017.html

To get ahead of the NCAA, I expect some of these programs will announce a "self" post season ban sometime in December...

Reads like a “f*** you” to the NCAA, including Self’s comments. Seems like Kansas took this approach to a whole new level with their Midnight Madness tonight. You have to see the videos to believe it.

Stripper poles and fake cash. Colleges just don’t care to pretend anymore that they care about educating students. It’s all about generating revenue through football and basketball.

Oh for those good old days when they pretended! My brother and I got talking about recruiting yesterday and he told me a story. When he was in junior college he became friends with a bball player who many years later became a junior college coach somewhere near Baltimore. He visited him 2 or 3 years ago and talked basketball one night. His friend told him "maybe 1%" of major college programs are clean. He said he was at a summer league game and saw a Georgetown assistant he knew. He asked the assistant how in the world they had lost a local star to Duke. The assistant told him "when he visited Georgetown a couple of the players took him to the gym, the library, a tour of campus". When he went to Duke Grant Hill was his host - took him to a booster's house, to a frat party, and then to meet the young woman who would be the recruit's female companion for the night - the whole night. Georgetown never had a chance.
