Yeah this is still RE Brian Bowen's recruitment and Rick Pitino. Sucks for Iona that they decided to bring him back into CBB. Thought so... They brought him back because he’s a ridiculously good coach. Iona could be perfect for him considering most top recruits won’t go there, he’ll do well with a bunch of under recruited and transfer types... Unless he gets hit with a sanction not allowing him to coach for a year or two.

It says 7 schools got hit with sanctions today.... on the ESPN ticker Point of clarification: Louisville makes it seven schools that have now received Notices of Allegation from the NCAAA, ; not all seven received those notifications today. Level I violation allegations, as previously announced, are presently outstanding against Kansas, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State and South Carolina; Southern California and Texas Christian have also received Notices of Allegations, but the applicable violation levels have not been disclosed.

"Extensive due diligence" means they asked Pitino whether he did anything wrong, and he denied any improper activity. Do we really believe that a school with an athletic budget the size of Iona's did an in-depth independent investigation?

Will it be enough to convince Cisse to change course, though?

If UNC doesn't have to offer real classes, I'm sure this will end similarly. The NCAA is all sorts of corrupt.

Will it be enough to convince Cisse to change course, though? Doubt he has time to get a different haircut.

This article contradicts Vitale's report: LSU has not received a notice of allegations from NCAA, contrary to Dick Vitale's report by Amie Just, The Advocate "LSU has not received a notice of allegations from the NCAA pertaining to its men's basketball program, a source close to LSU basketball program told The Advocate on Wednesday night, contradicting a previous report from ESPN's Dick Vitale that said otherwise. "NO," the source said in a text, when asked if there was any truth to Vitale's report. LSU senior associate athletic director Robert Munson later told The Advocate: "LSU has not received any notice of allegations involving the men's basketball program or any athletic program at LSU." If they pay the postal deliverer to "lose" the Notice, did it ever really exist?

I don't see anything happening. He's a white coach. Systems stacked against the Black coach in the NCAA.

LSU is under no obligation to announce if they have received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA. Also why would they announce that right now in the middle a major recruiting battle for Cisse and while players could bolt depending on the severity of the NOA. My guess is they will announce or leak they they received the NOA in September after the players are on campus...
