Well, it is a diversion for the Senatorial followers of the Grand Leader in the White House. Keep your politics off the board Wow. I'd forgotten I'd posted that two weeks ago. Thanks for commenting on it and effectively reposting it for me for more to see!

More of an opportunity (twice for me) to highlight those who are distressed that they didn’t get their way and find the need to vent even in inappropriate settings. Hopefully we can bring back amateurism to the NCAA

The real story that the media hasn't touched yet for whatever reason (probably because they like Penny) is that Penny Hardaway is a serial cheater that got caught with Wiseman. Memphis probably gave up Wiseman because they don't want the NCAA taking a closer look at what Hardaway is doing at Memphis. To get a job in college athletics you have to pass an NCAA comcompliance rules test. Hardaway knew that giving Wiseman money to move to Memphis and play for him in high school was not only a major violation of college rules but was a major violation of high school basketball rules. Yet he still recruited him to Memphis. He also at some point lied to his compliance office or tried to cover it up. There is no way that he went to his compliance office and told them about his payment to the Wiseman family and they said go ahead recruit & sign him. I'm also pretty sure that Wiseman was instructed to lie to the. NCAA eligibility clearinghouse bedbecause they ask a variety of questions regarding if you have ever been given money for basketball reasons. I would bet some money that the reason Memphis have up Wiseman was because they don't want the NCAA snooping around their program which could lead them to figuring out how Memphis really landed the top recruiting class last season. Penny is brazen with his cheating efforts, he didn't even wait for the start of his second season as a college coach. I would bet multiple players on Memphis current roster have violations/eligibility issues do to Hardaway's actions. Not only that but they're high school players right now that Penny is recruiting that have made some red flag decisions the NCAA should be looking at... Cough...Moussa Cisse...cough! Kept hearing this popular narrative on here "how is it that Penny is able to get all these "5 Star" prospects and Coach Ewing hasn't been able to". Now you know how!

We are at a point where the blue chip programs and the next tier of wannabes are skirting the rules to land 5-stars. That may be the biggest challenge for us in recruiting.

According to this article the NCAA knew about the payment in May before he enrolled at Memphis but still initially ruled Wiseman eligible to play for Memphis this season, it’s not clear why they changed their minds now... www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-basketball/news/james-wiseman-ncaa-eligibility-questions-memphis-basketball/rx84r9z4b9kr1c7dcbr6c2365but according to the lawsuit filed by Wiseman’s attorneys last week, this information was available to the NCAA between January and May. The lawsuit claims the organization in late May approved Wiseman to compete for the Tigers. One member of Wiseman’s legal team, attorney Blake Ballin, told reporters from the Commercial Appeal (Memphis, Tenn.) that Wiseman would have had other options for competition this winter if it were known that he would be ineligible with the Tigers. (It’s even possible he could have been free to play at another NCAA school). Instead, Ballin said, Wiseman relied on the initial approval and enrolled at Memphis with the intention to play in the 2019-20 season

Instead, Ballin said, Wiseman relied on the initial approval and enrolled at Memphis with the intention to play in the 2019-20 season As someone who has taken and passed the NCAA certification class required to work in athletics at an NCAA member school, there is no way that Penny Hardaway didn't know what he was doing to get Wiseman to Memphis was highly against the rules. They go over this exact situation in a multitude of ways to make sure you know this against nba rules and how to self report to avoid the NCAA hammer. Regarding Wiseman's lawyer, Mr. Ballin was hired to being an advocate for Wiseman interest which would also include shaping his image. The NCAA is an easy foil and Mr. Ballin know this and is probably part of the reason why he stated that this information was available to the NCAA between January & May. Why was the information not available after May? Anyone who has worked in athletics at NCAA school knows that the heavy part of the eligibility clearance doesn't start until late May as freshmen/new student-athletes are starting summer school. No need to get knee deep in an investigation on a student athlete If they aren't going to attend an NCAA school. I'll continue to say this, the media has mostly missed the true story about how Penny Hardaway is a serial cheater. He cheated in high school with Wiseman and who knows who else. He tried to cheat with Wiseman at Memphis and got caught. The BIG question is who else/how else is Penny circumventing the ncaa rules. How else does a college coach with no NCAA/NBA coaching experience secure the "number 1 ranked" class. The media is slowly catching on... Don't agree with everything in this article, but it's a start!

Yet Penny isn't suspended at all...SMH! Didn't initially see that Memphis is going to appeal. They got off easy and aren't happy. Memphis has got some chutzpah!

Every question at every press conference or NCAA event should begin with “How the hell does Penny Hardaway skate here while kid owes $11,500?”

Every question at every press conference or NCAA event should begin with “How the hell does Penny Hardaway skate here while kid owes $11,500?” ‘Tis a puzzlement. Unless you start with the supposition that head coaches can do whatever they want, and student/athletes are mere commodities to be exploited. In which case it makes sense in a very perverted way.

Every question at every press conference or NCAA event should begin with “How the hell does Penny Hardaway skate here while kid owes $11,500?” The problem for the NCAA is that it references a scenario that the rules didn't plan for: when a booster becomes the coach. Rules on dealing with a booster (e.g., disassociating with them as part of compliance) don't exactly fit here. Were he not the legend he is at Memphis, they could exercise a just-cause exit, but that's not likely.

The bigger the program and more high profile the coach, the more untouchable. S*** just don’t stick, as they say.
