We're not getting a kid that has Miami and LSU in his top 4.

Nope, Shawn Phillips.

Hopefully on Phillips, we are recruiting him for next year after he goes to Miami or LSU and realizes the money doesn't materialize or the playing time doesn't. I wouldn't only recruit bigs who are insanely gifted or who you think you can get on the rebound in year two. Call it the long recruiting game for the transfer wire.

When does Shawn Phillip's visit start, today or tomorrow?

I'm only guessing we have "Social Media Silence" for the visit this weekend? Does anyone have any info to share?

Elijah Perkins will suit up this season for one of the top public schools in the county. So while he has a solid list of offers in tow, his standing as a member of a loaded Camden (NJ) High School squad makes him a threat to see his recruitment take the next step in the months ahead. The 6-foot-3 guard holds offers from Georgetown, Kansas State and Nebraska. And while he doesn’t seem to be in close contact with either as things stand, he looked every bit capable of helping a high-major program during a recent standout performance at MADE Academy in suburban New Jersey. ON HIS CURRENT OFFERS "I have St Peters, Hofstra, Nebraska, Georgetown, Hampton and a couple others." ON VISITS “Just an official visit to Hampton on Oct. 2.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/one-to-watch-elijah-perkinsThe Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s basketball head coach Nate James announced the signing of Elijah Perkins as part of the 2022-23 recruiting class Wednesday. Perkins, a 6-4 guard from Middletown, NJ, joins the APSU Govs following three years of prep ball at Ranney School followed by one season at Camden High under head coach Rick Brunson. In his prep career, Perkins averaged 10.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Perkins was rated as the 62nd best shooting guard in the country by 24/7 Sports and the 11th best guard in the state of New Jersey. Perkins heads to Austin Peay State University after receiving offers from Saint Peter’s, Georgetown, Nebraska, and Hampton. www.clarksvilleonline.com/2022/05/19/apsu-mens-basketball-signs-elijah-perkins/Former Tulsa signee DJ Jefferson, who was released form his letter of intent and returned to the market a couple months back, has now found a new home at Tennessee. The Rivals150 wing announced his intentions to become a Vol on Friday afternoon and will bring a well-rounded skill set to Knoxville. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/commitment-at-a-glance-dj-jefferson-lands-at-tennessee

Perkins offer wasn't committable. He played with Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine at Ranney before joining DJ Wagner at Camden this year. Low major player.

Yann Farell, a 6-foot-7, 180-pound small forward who played last season at Keystone Athletic Academy in Erie, Pa., has committed to Bona, he announced on social media Monday night. Originally from Gabon, Africa, he’ll have four years of eligibiity beginning next season. Farell is considered to be a borderline top 100 player according to multiple services, ranking No. 135 in the entire Class of 2022 by On3.com and No. 127 by Rivals. By March, he’d made visits to St. John’s, Maryland and Georgetown, per On3 reporter Jamie Shaw. www.oleantimesherald.com/sports/bonnies-land-coveted-4-star-forward-farell/article_8b69f812-46ab-5daf-b252-a9b3a681d1f5.html

Oregon basketball signee Dior Johnson, one of the top recruits in the Class of 2022, plans to back out of his pledge to the Ducks and explore other collegiate options, per ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. Johnson was part of an Oregon signing class that ranked 21st in the nation, per the 247Sports team composite rankings. Johnson committed to the Ducks in June 2021 and signed that November. At the time, he was one of two five-star prospects to ink with Oregon. Johnson, a product of Castaic (Calif.) Southern California Academy, currently ranks out in the 247Sports Composite as the No. 37 prospect nationally, No. 7 point guard and No. 5 prospect in the state of California. 247sports.com/Article/Oregon-basketball-signee-Dior-Johnson-will-back-out-of-commitment-to-Ducks-per-report-188559005/

Three-star guard Bryce Lindsay is set to announce a college decision on Friday, and programs such as South Carolina, Oklahoma State and Pittsburgh are in the mix to land his pledge. The 6-foot-3 Maryland-based prospect visited all three of the aforementioned schools, but most recently toured the campus of South Carolina. The timing of the decision certainly seems to have the Gamecocks, who currently boast a two-member class comprised of forward Daniel Hankins-Sanford and point guard Zachary Davis. Lindsay, whose reputation is that of a shooter, is coming off an impressive performance at the Chick-Fil-A Classic a few weeks back and will provide whichever school he chooses with a scoring threat from long-range. Lindsay has recently shown an improved ability to create his own shot and seems to be evolving as a more complete prospect. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/florida-man-penny-hardaway-s-tirade-may-prove-costlySouth Carolina has landed a commitment from sharp shooting combo guard Bryce Lindsay. Lindsay chose the Gamecocks over Depaul, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M among others and it really came down to the efforts of the coaching staff and his most recent official visit that he took earlier this month. “I chose them because it just felt like a family vibe when I got on campus and that was mainly because of coach Martin,” he said. “He really reminds me of the coaches I've been playing with for my whole life. They push you hard and love you harder off the court.” 247sports.com/Article/Basketball-recruiting-South-Carolina-commit-Bryce-Lindsay-247Sports-181708508/

It sounds like Maryland or Butler are the schools to beat for his commitment. Five-star forward Benny Williams turned in a team-high 24 points as his IMG Academy squad cruised to victory in the night’s prime time game. The performance included two 3-pointers and an emphatic dunk that drew a questionable technical foul for hanging on the rim. And while it was one of the day’s most exciting performances, it was also well-rounded, which has long been Williams’ trademark adjective. The Syracuse-bound star has long been a gifted shooter, but he seems to become more efficient by the week and always seems to make the right pass. Following the game, Williams said he is the ear of class of 2022 forward Justin Taylor, who he’d like to join him in upstate New York. “I’ve known him for a while now,” Williams said of Taylor. “I’m getting there with him. I’m gonna get him.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/cassidy-s-takeaways-day-1-of-the-img-academy-beach-blast

Williams is a high level athlete that flashes at some points with really impressive highlight plays, but then seems to disappear for long stretches, which is what I think has kept him from getting consistent minutes at Syracuse. Would he be an upgrade to Ish? absolutely!!! Not sure if he is dying to come back home or not, but I would think it is worth monitoring. Would he have two years left?

Draws T for throwing ball and then shoulder bumped Autry when taken out of the game. Had earlier suspension from team for violating team rules. No thanks.

If he comes home let it be Mason that deals with that.

Stay away from Williams with a 10 foot pole. Not only a problem child but a very low skilled one at that.
