Didn't follow this kids recruitment too closely. Can anyone fill me in on the details regarding his play style and potential? Regardless, glad to welcome him to the Hoya family!

Congrats to the young man!!
Versatile type player, stretch 4 man.. Very nice get imo..
Looks like a JT3 type player tbh, that's not meant as a dig at all..
One thing that works in Carter’s favor is his versatility. Listed at 6’9”, 225 pounds, Carter can play multiple positions due to his combination of size, quickness, and skill. While the small forward and power forward positions are where he’s most comfortable, Carter has the capability of playing the center spot in small lineups. Given Cal’s need for both a power forward and center to round out the 2018 recruiting class, Carter can fit either bill and play alongside a wide array of players in the post.
“I can score in bunches in any way,” Carter said of his game. “I can handle the ball, I have good court vision. I make good decisions with the ball and I can guard multiple positions. I really don't have a position. I can play small forward all the way down to center if you want a small line up. I usually just say a 3/4 though.”
While an offer from Cal is not yet on the table, Carter already has offers from several other high major programs. Four in particular seem to be working the hardest to get him: “Georgetown, Arkansas, Wichita State, and Colorado.”
Pretty skilled 4 man. Best asset right now is his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter. Solid passer can handle it a little bit, not a bouncy athlete. Used to be a top 100ish kid before breaking his ankle Sophomore season...
Had offers from LSU, SMU, Houston, Texas, Iowa St, Texas A&M etc...

High academic kid too, just read an article on Scout that says he carries a 3.8 gpa..
Academically, Carter is a good fit, with a 3.8 GPA. He's also a good fit on the court, though the staff still wants to watch him play a bit more his senior season before offering. As it stands, the staff like his versatility.
"They believe I can play multiple positions, that I can guard multiple positions," Carter said. "They don't really have to worry about me, because academics are really a focus."
Can't stress enough how much I think this should be the niche the staff tries to exploit..
I'm not a fan of the "get to the league" sales pitch..

I hear you but tbf I doubt every kid gets the same pitch
A broken ankle slowed three-star big man Grayson Carter during his sophomore year and last summer. Now, the junior is pretty much all the way back and the results are showing.
Playing with Dallas Showtyme Elite, the 6-fo0t-9 center from Denton (Texas) Guyer has shown flashes of skill and power that in the past earned him offers from Texas, TCU, SMU, Oklahoma State, LSU, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Houston and Tulsa among others.
"I'm probably 90 or 95 percent now," Carter told Rivals.com. "The rest of it is just getting back timing and my ball handling and stuff like that right. Other than that I'm in pretty good shape.
"My biggest upside is that I feel I can do a little bit of everything at my size. I'm pretty solid in most places but I'm never going to be satisfied."

Smart...skilled...versatile...can knock down perimeter shots...and is never going to be satisfied...if he sticks to this attitude/work ethic, that's a pretty good RX for future success...welcome aboard, Grayson (and family)...
