HM attendees: 2018's Josh LeBlanc Mac McClung (OV) Nigel Marshal Ibn Williams 2019's Armando Bacot Aidan Igiehon Khalil Whitney Jason Murphy Yavuz Gultekin Logan Curtis Anthony Walker Xavier Johnson James BishopJudah Jordan Gerard Mungo Jordan Guerro 2020's Earl Timberlake Woody Newton Myles Stute Che Evans Dominick Harris Terry Lewis Tymu Chenery Adrian Baldwin Keyshawn Johnson 2023's Malik Mack James Bishop, CG, Mt. St. Joseph’s – Known mostly as a scorer, Bishop really looked improved as a point guard at the event. With good quickness and a fairly explosive first step, Bishop was getting into the lane and instead of shooting, he would find open teammates and set up buckets. Also Bishop as usual showed he could score from deep, but it was his improvement as a facilitator that really stood out. Woody Newton, SF/PF, Mt. Zion Prep – Arguably the top long term prospect at the event was Newton. At around 6-foot-7 with really long arms and good athleticism, Newton is the type of versatile forward who is all the rage in today’s positionless basketball. Newton can handle the ball, has a pretty good stroke out to the three point line, and also can beat his man one on one off the dribble. Now Newton just needs to continue to get stronger, but there is no doubt that he can be one of the best forwards in the country before it is all said and done. Myles Stute, PF, Gonzaga – There might not have been a more impressive individual performance than the one Stute delivered during the Metro Challenge. Stute, who is a near elite athlete, absolutely caught fire from three. He was raining in shots from all over, and looked the part of a high-major player. Stute has been inconsistent at times, and is a bit undersized, but with his athleticism if he continues to shoot like he did on Saturday he has a chance to be playing at a very high level. 247sports.com/Article/Many-of-the-top-prospects-in-the-DMV-got-together-for-the-Metro-Challenge-116643399LSU began its 2019 class on Tuesday with the commitment of Rivals150 guard James Bishop . The four-star guard out of Maryland is known as one of the top scorers in his class nationally, and gives the Tigers an immediate weapon on the perimeter. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/lsu-begins-2019-with-rivals150-guard-james-bishop

While he is still attempting to make the transition solely to the small forward position, Stute embodies all that you look for in a long-term prospect. A 6-foot-6 sophomore that competes like his life is on the line, can make shots to the perimeter, is a sneaky athlete at the basket, and is a willing defender that can guard up to three positions on the floor, Stute checks many of the boxes. Toss in the fact that he plays for one of the best 16-under teams in America, Team Takeover, and plays for one of the most respected high school coaches in America with Steve Turner at Gonzaga College High School, and one would expect for Stute to only get better as he ages. I am buying now into the entire picture that is Stute’s profile as a high-major prospect that I am a bit afraid that we ranked him too low in the new Rivals125. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/new-release-updated-2020-rivals150-with-analysts-opinionsPenn State will be the home of a very loud white out crowd that Ohio State will hope to silence on the football field, and the basketball coaches will be using that atmosphere to their advantage. Top target Seth Lundy will be making his official visit to Penn State this weekend. Also joining Lundy will be five-star class of 2021 talent William Jeffress. Beyond them, class of 2020 prospects John Hugley, Malcolm Dread and Myles Stute will be in attendance. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Big-time-official-visitors-for-Indiana-Kansas-and-Kentucky-dot-the-landscape-of-college-basketball-this-weekend-122592662/

Heres hoping for a Damion Baugh commit, after this weekend, 4 star guards who are great defenders and rebounders are luxury. Love swiss army knife type players.

Any word on a list of recruits scheduled to attend Hoya Madness on this Friday? Would think it could be a big list with the number of offers out to recruits for '20 and '21.

So has Ledlum been on campus since Thursday night? Saw Zag's tweet but pretty sure he started his OV on Friday Yeah...OV's typically start on Friday morning and run through Sunday morning exit meeting. The athlete and his family will travel to or near the campus Thursday to the Hotel they are staying at depending if the university has a hotel on campus like George Mason does. If they are flying into town for the visit, an assistant coach will typically pick up the recruit and his family at the airport and transport them to their hotel where they are staying on Thursday and that's the only interaction the staff can have with the recruit on that travel day...

Thanks 4ever I wasnt really aware of how that all works and exactly when an OV starts. That's interesting.

Georgetown has an on campus hotel - the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center. Don't know if used for OVs.

Georgetown has an on campus hotel - the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center. Don't know if used for OVs. I assumed it wasn't used for OV's because multiple recruits like Akinjo for example have posted pics on social media of them staying at other Hotels off campus during OV's. That maybe an assumption on my part or may have been just a logistics issue based on the timing of their visit, or maybe they wanted to roll out the red carpet because the off campus hotels have been top shelf 5 Star hotels (Not saying the Georgetown University Hotel isn't top shelf. I've never been inside.), I don't know either way. I've been to George Mason several times over the years with basketball recruits who were on OV's and they all stayed at the campus hotel. I've had friends and colleagues who worked in athletics at Mason as well and they told me they always host recruits at their on campus hotel. That's the reason why I gave a breakdown of a typical OV's setup...

Georgetown has an on campus hotel - the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center. Don't know if used for OVs. Previous recruits have stayed at the Four Seasons on M Street for official visits. No shade to the Georgetown on campus hotel, but it’s pretty standard and run by Aramark now. There are enough top notch hotels close to campus that it really shouldn’t be an option.

Not pulling a UCONN board until it's for sure. Was just told a strong possibility of another serious visitor this weekend. We will see as things are always fluid in recruiting...
