He was a contributor last year on a pretty talented St. Anthony's team. Interesting game, too. He's an athletic, lefty 3 with a college-ready build who's an efficient scorer. I think he's gonna have a big year this year after his move to MD, and get a lot more love from the locals.

Majority of the kids at this event are a long ways away from getting serious about recruitment. Maybe you open up some eyes maybe you don't, but it's great to get them up for an official regardless.

It doesn't matter to me if they came because it's Friday the 13th and they want to see the Exorcist stairs or because Meek Mill will be performing. Just get them on campus and get the buzz going. Hopefully we'll come out with one or two commitments by Monday.

No one is going to commit to us because they saw a rapper perform two songs for free. This obviously doesn't hurt but I personally would rather have kids on campus that are really interested in Georgetown that the staff can try to sell the school to one on one rather than dozens of guys that in all likelihood won't even consider us seriously or that we wont consider seriously.

I just hope there is room for the students. Ewing is packing the crowd with recruits! Nice work coach

This misses the point. A short story about myself: I first visited Georgetown in the summer of my senior year of high school. I liked the school, but I cannot say I was overwhelmed by it. To me, it was a little far from what I considered home. Plus, the visit was on a dark, cloudy day, and I suppose nothing really jumped out at me. Fast forward to February, after I had been admitted, and I went to the GAAP weekend (where they had incoming students come in to sample classes, meet other students, experience life at Georgetown, etc.). My February visit was absolutely wonderful - I loved the visit, enjoyed meeting some potential classmates (and even kept in touch with a couple), and in the span of 3 days, I had basically gone from liking Georgetown but not being overly enthusiastic, to loving the school and being almost 100% certain I was going to go there. The point: you want to show kids the Georgetown experience, and give them a good time, which may in turn cause them to look differently at the school. For me, the GAAP weekend did it. For high school basketball students, seeing a performer and spending time around the program and our guys might leave a lasting impression. We absolutely should welcome anybody we would want to potentially recruit to join in on Hoya Madness. There's no downside at all.

I don't think anyone is expecting a commitment just because they got to see a rapper play a few songs on campus but having all these kids on campus and exposing them to the new facilities, the program and what the new staff is selling can only help raise the profile of the school. It sounds like have a lot of highly rated players coming tonight. Everyone was concerned that Coach Ewing was going to struggle connecting to some of these AAU programs but it sounds like they have reached out to a handful of programs and have multiple kids coming from those programs. Certainly sounds like he is trying to connect.

I will add that the volume of recruits coming to Hoya Madness tonight seems to speak to the effort being put forth by the staff and Ewing. I have never doubted that Ewing would put in hard work, since he seems to commit fully to everything he's done in the past. It still remains to be seen whether Ewing and the staff can begin getting more and more commitments from top talent, but this is certainly what you want to see at this stage.

In summary, you want Midnight Madness to be boring and like every other recruiting visit during the year.

A break from everyone freaking out over me wanting ewing and the staff to focus on kids like mcclung, leblanc and igiehon and not random middle schoolers for this.
