His comments above are really disappointing to me...G'town was "alright"?..." liked the whole coaching staff...the situation overall and the environment"... (at A&M)...doesn't sound good at all, and I thought we would very likely be the choice over A&M...play for Billy Kennedy over Patrick Ewing, and go to Texas A&M over Georgetown?...I just don't get that at all, and it would be extremely disappointing to me...we'll see... If you live in SEC country, playing in the SEC is a big deal. A&M has better facilities than LSU right now and are more than comparable with Georgetown. As to "Billy Kennedy over Patrick Ewing", that's the case of trying to sell a coach which has never coached a college game. Kennedy is a known quantity for better or worse, Ewing is not.

With the depth we should have up front next year hé can get some minutes as a rebounder and defensive stopper and hopefully be coached up to be a capable shooter. Yes ideally he should have better range but we have been so deficient recently that we are not going to pull fully rounded top talent right away.

Probably an understatement ... I assume that Georgetown's recently ballyhooed facilities upgrade (which is great, don't get me wrong) probably puts us now maybe 3-4 years behind any Power 5 school's facilities (as opposed to in the dark ages).
And yeah, recency plays a big part too ... I know we all love our program but the last time the Hoyas had a tourney run was 2007's final 4, these kids were 7 years old. Even though their "going to the tournament" record has been very spotty, the Aggies made it to the Sweet 16 two years ago.

If you guys are trying to sell the opportunity of playing for Billy Kennedy at Texas A&M over playing for Patrick Ewing at Georgetown, I'm just not buying it...on any level...this whole notion that he hasn't coached in college, therefore Kennedy's illustrious playing (did he even play in college or pros?) or coaching career (one NCAA appearance in 6 years?) somehow trumps Ewings 4 time college All American, HOF NBA player for 14-15 years, dream team gold medal winner, and NBA coach for another 15 years where he coached elite level players ? Furthermore, if this notion of playing in the SEC is such a big deal, then why has the conference been so poor the last 20 years when compared to, say, the Big East? Last time Gtown had a tourney run (2007)?...that's being pretty selective...how many times has Gtown BEEN to the NCAA in those last 10 years...6 or 7? versus what, 1 or 2 for A&M? Your negativity overwhelms me...Billy Kennedy is from La...I'll give you that..maybe that's the attraction, the cajun accent.

Two more items...he was quoted recently as saying that he didn't even know that A&M was in the SEC, and that he liked the academics at Georgetown...I guess we'll see...

Ok, but pretty sure A&M let him know that on his OV s4.... Staff has a chance but looks like there's still work to do.

I like our chances. I think he commits to us. For him to cancel Arkansas and LSU says a whole lot about our staff's pursuit.

A&M is a better program than us right now. Tradition, history and all that nostalgia matters to fans more than players. Staff has to sell opportunity to players. It worked with Pickett.

We could possibly have a log jam at the forward spot. We already have Carter signed. Then Pickett will be playing major mins his sophomore yr. Walker, Derrickson, Johnson with the possibility of landing LeBlanc, and Fleming...

Walker, Derrickson, Johnson with the possibility of landing LeBlanc, and Fleming... Govan, Derrickson and Kaleb will be seniors during Lebanc's freshman year, and PT will open after that. I think that a major part of a top program's success is to allow freshman to become acclimated in in their first year and then step up as sophomores. Villanova has been doing this recently with players like Brunson, Booth etc. learning the ropes under experienced players and not putting them in a position to play major minutes in their first year. Unless a guy is a one and done type, it is good to allow guys to become oriented to college life, practice, travel etc.

I get what your saying but this kids now days are wanting playing time their freshman year. Texas AM may have more time available than Georgetown in that regards. LeBlanc basically plays the same position as Pickett and Walker.

Leblanc's Twitter account is mostly A&M stuff. Going off of that alone, I wouldn't anticipate getting him.
Having said that, I think it's interesting that we got a Crystal Ball pick this morning. Would love to know what prompted it.

Don't hold his feet to the fire, if he doesn't selection GU due to their strong academics. Imho, any D-1 institution can make a statement about getting an quality education from them.

It will be what it will be, the staff has done the work. The player has to make an evaluation and make the call. I like the Hoyas chances!

Don't know correct the crystal ball is. They are still listing LSU as a option. He eliminated LSU last week.

Crystal Ball or not...I think we land him. Him eliminating LSU and Arkansas was big. I like our chances and I like to think Ewing and staff have made quite the impression.

I gotta go with everyone else and hope I am wrong but looking at the kids twitter page it looks alot like Texas A&M, kid is retweeting football highlights I don't get this all signs are pointing to A&M nonsense. I don't think signs are pointing anywhere. I don't have a clue where he is going to commit to and neither does anybody on 247. If anything, Leblanc has been very quiet only making 2 announcements, that he's no longer considering first Arkansas and 2nd time he spoke with the press was to remove hometown LSU from consideration. I wish more kids would handle their recruiting like he has. I guarantee both Arkansas and LSU appreciate his honesty as he could have kept both programs on the hook. Instead by making it known, it allows them to move on to other kids. Things aren't always what you might think they are... The Texas AM highlights are of freshman RB Jacob Kibodi who is from Baton Rouge, LA and is friends with Leblanc.
