So you have a men's BB team that may or may not be good with Coach Ewing. A FB team that is not the center of the world. A men's soccer team that has been good, may be good, but was so-so last year. Is there any NCAA interest on the Hill?
Lonely, when you are not a grad, and posting with yourself. School spirit dead and gone?
Believe me, I'm interested! I'm also a contractor for FEMA and, well, we've been a tad bit occupied this week... :/ I have a fellow devotee, but he's in the University's employ and has to stay in lurker mode around these parts.
Kudos to The Voice for devoting some electronic inches to the ladies, e.g. georgetownvoice.com/2017/08/27/no-11-womens-soccer-routs-loyola-maryland-at-home/ The Hoya, meanwhile, appears to still be on summer break as far as its coverage of campus sports is concerned.
I certainly do wish there was more interest, both on this site and on campus. What would it take to get a patented Chris Grosse Theater of the Absurd Sports Promotion for a women's game? I dunno. Women's sports continue to be a tough sell, but considering that the Washington Spirit manage to draw north of 3,500 per match out to Boyds (https://soccerstadiumdigest.com/2017-nwsl-attendance/), the Hoyas should be able to get more live eyeballs than they've been seeing.
Would also be nice for Hoya Blue to do something for one of the marquee games, like Rutgers or St. John's.
The 25th anniversary is a nice story, but I'm afraid that, absent some dedicated attention on it from various University promotional organs, it will pass by with nary a non-diehard noticing.
