I'll chime in...what makes you think we have a shot here?...He's obviously a very good player...my concern is the uncertainty of Govan/Yurtseven in the pivot...if one returns/is eligible, we still need a backup center more than another wing (although he may be the better quality player)...if both can play, no problem...Bey would be a tremendous addition...if NEITHER is available, we have an emergency need for a center (but may have an additional schollie)...in short, we still need some things to be worked out/finalized to complete the roster...hopefully, the staff is on top of all this and will get the best things done...

Local, limited options, and the program is in a different space than the last time around in terms of young talent on the roster. Have to figure staff will reach out and we'll see if his camp is receptive..

OK. Hypothetical.
There is one open scholarship. Bey and Osunniyi are both interested in signing. Jessie and Yurt are both unavailable this year, leaving Mourning/Carter/smaller lineups at the 5.
Do you take Bey or Osunniyi?

Greater need is we need another big. Only problem is bey is a better player. I hate to say it but I wish Mourning dad would pay for his son scholarship so we could have two open schalorships.

Do you take Bey or Osunniyi? Definitely Bey. Look at the conference, who is going to play throw the ball into the post bully ball and expose us inside? I don't see anyone really other than maybe Jones from X. Grab Bey and get Mourning, Walker, Carter and Leblanc to hold their own down there

If the Hoyas still have one open scholarship (assuming Govan returns), then what you mentioned about Mourning is actually the likely scenario.

Nothing against Greg but I wonder if Ewing regrets the Malinowski signing now...?
At the time I am sure it made sense but I always felt that every year there is a dozen of players like him om the transfer wire...

Bey all the way. Osun is not ready to contribute now, which is most important. We can do better in ‘19.

i'd love to know if there's any indication as to a visit being scheduled with us... such info would be a very strong indicator of whether there's meaningful mutual interest...

Bey looks to be a pretty polished player who could contribute right away. Is there any information on social media from any of the recruiting people of the schools that have shown interest in him since he got the release. You usually see something saying that the player has heard from certain schools soon after they become available. If we hear the Hoyas reached out or that his "camp" is saying they would be interested in Georgetown then it might be interesting to watch it unfold, but until then he is just another available player. Have to think he will be setting up visits really soon if he wants to get to campus with all the other new recruits at whatever school he picks.

I have not seen Patrick Ewing tweet "Bey is my bae" .... yet.

I noticed that one of the previous videos had him referred to as a 2Gd...if that's a realistic possibility at 6'7 or 6'8 (since he has evidently grown), that changes the dynamic considerably IMO...meaning, if he can swing between the 2 and the 3 it really enhances his and our options as to playing time...

Yes, this size profile matches that of Pickett and offers flexibility on the defensive and offensive ends.
My gut tells me that Ewing is going to land 2 quality bigs from class of 2019, so I'd be in favor of adding Bey now.
I'd take another "Bey Bey..."

He would immediately be a solid rotation player ( assuming we are 7 or 8 deep). If we can get him, do it.
