Bad enough that Eric has an undergrad degree, now we have sold out to take in Tiffany at the Law School. No amount of money justifies taking these already over-privileged kids over other qualified applicants kand their history as donors looks pretty spotty anyway). This type of decision cheapens all of our degrees and makes the school look like an influence peddling hotspot. Hashtag sad

Good to know. I understand Trump derangement, but to suggest that one Law School Admission to the daughter of a sitting President cheapens all of our degrees is psychotic.

Agreed, but I wouldn't say Trump is deranged. Dangerously unfit for office, stunningly ignorant, remarkably incurious, narcissistic, sure. But not necessarily deranged.

Now you know damn well that no child of Mr Obama could ever be over privileged, under qualified or anything short of positively divine... How dare you?

You guys are comparing the Kennedys, with like 4 generations of public service among the branches of the family, to the Trumps, who have literally NEVER done anything other than help themselves? Or even the Obamas, who, whether you like their views or not, served the country respectfully and respectably before and during their time in the White House. In case you haven't been watching, the current president is an ethical and political nightmare, deadset on literally destroying our government. Oh, I am sorry, I mean "deconstructing." The guy ran on a platform of hate, has governed on the twin principals of destroying the past president's work and milking the public trust for all it is worth to him and his cronies. To suggest a parallel to the Kennedys, who served in uniform and, in many cases, gave their lives in service to the country, is just rank partisan bitterness. It also reflects complete cluelessness about those values I suggest play a key role in the GU community.

Substance-less insults - bread and butter for a political movement devoid of commitment to our shared national history and identity. More more more for me is not an ethos or an ideology and it DOESN'T WORK as a polity.

My simple point is that you don't know a damn thing about Tiffany Trrump but you hate her father, ergo her admission cheapens your degree. Have at it. Some might feel their degree is cheapened by accepting the children of those who pursue policy goals which are anathema to Catholicism. I personally don't care whether Tiffany Trump goes to Georgetown Law or Barbizon. Why your underwear is in such a twist escapes me?

Although I am not thrilled to have this association with Trump offspring, they are far from the only children of privilege to find their way to the Hilltop. I am far more ashamed that a Georgetown education somehow contributed to the world views of Steve Bannon and Paul Manafort.

You could take the optimistic view and wonder how much more awful they would be without the benefit of some GU wisdom...

Stuck on something from the summer of 1969 and accusing me of being poorly informed... OK. You have no clue what I know, who I know or what experience I have, so go ahead and insult me all you want. It won't change the fact that there are 1000s of qualified applicants who won't be going to GU Law next fall because the school thought it would be more fun to take a high profile, highly privileged kid from a family with a sketchy history of greed and divisiveness. Here's hoping she isn't like that, but, you know, hard to say, maybe she is a person of extraordinary substance. www.instagram.com/tiffanytrump/

Georgetown had just over 9,000 applications for the entering 2017 class, among the most of any school in a vastly declining market for law applications. Are you really saying that " 1000s of qualified applicants who won't be going to GU Law next fall", a number that would potentially crater its applications numbers? Nothing suggests this.

Fair enough, though her presence in the class will have an outsized impact. I am still content to say i could find 1000s of better candidates for that one seat.
