Sad situation. I was looking forward to seeing his development under Pat.
Now we need a big or two for next year.

There is a video of his **alleged** arrest going around social media. It isnt a good look AT ALL.

a) Good for Ewing. b) This thread is an absolute garbage pit. You have people arguing that he's going pro when he can't get off our bench. Good lord. He's 7'3" and can move, that alone gives him a better shot then 99.9% of the population. The fact he's even playing Div 1 after only playing the sport for 5 years should give an optimistic picture. Also, not sure if you were referencing my post in people arguing but all I said was that "I wouldn't be surprised", it's far from guaranteed.

Hopefully it acts as a cautionary message to our other guys, present and future.

Tough break for Chris if this was over a public incident. It's not like anyone should've identified him as a basketball player.

Again, him not wanting to be here means he intentionally violated team rules rather than simply transfer. If your assertion has any validity, which I highly doubt, then that would be a terrible decision by an 18 year old who couldve announced his transfer this week. Kids do "intentional" things for attention. Hmmm. right or wrong he did it his way.

Sodom didn't want to be here. He knows he can do better elsewhere. Oh, I'm just the messenger. lol Totally baseless. There is just as much chance that he screwed up, got himself arrested, totally regrets it and will now work his butt off to get back on the team for next year if pat gives him that chance. Stop hating on the program, the coach, the fans and the no-guard players.

So your claim is that he went and got himself arrested in a public setting to therefore get himself kicked off the team? An incident that has legal ramifications far outside of playing college basketball? I just want to be clear before I call you out on being a troll, because that is just plain ridiculous.

Very unfortunate turn for a promising project. I myself speculated that he may have wanted to transfer and that could still be some ulterior motive, but this sounds more like he just made a young dumb mistake, just like I and many of my classmates made without the same level of consequence. Hopefully he regrets it and, if an otherwise good teammate, maybe Pat will give him a chance to work his way back onto the roster at some future time. Or he is gone, which would be a shame for all. Reserve further judgment until I see this claimed video, which may or may not be revealing. Sorry to lose you Chris, hope your future regains its promise.

What did the video of the "alleged' incident show? Dismissed from the team sounds relatively final, as opposed to, say, put on probation or disciplined by having to sit out several games, etc. He must have been clearly at fault for something as opposed to getting caught up in an incident and being a participant vs.an instigator...sorry to see this happen in any event.

Im sure different people could view the circumstances of the video differently. You dont see the initial arrest or reasoning behind it in the video I saw. But you see the person in question really making it difficult on the cops to get him out of the bar. Whether it would fall under "resisting" is not for me to decide. Let me be clear, I am attempting to be as judgement free as possible. If you believe the rumor: he was rejected from the bar, threatened or attempted to become physical with the bouncer, and then resisted upon being handcuffed by DC Metro. Again, just hearsay except the tail end.

Again, just hearsay except the tail end. Any idea how old he is? Assuming he's similar in age to most college freshmen, he had no business trying to get into a bar, correct? Can't be a whole lot of fake IDs bearing physical similarities to a 7'3" guy...

If the "dismissed from Georgetown" report is accurate, this is bigger than being dismissed from the program and was an institutional rather than a team decision. Coach Ewing's opinion may or may not have Ben a determining factor.

Chris is from Nigeria and I assume is on a student visa. Based on the rumors, there are a few things that could invalidate a visa. Hopefully it works out for him.
*This is to say I don't think this will happen but I have had friends and colleagues both lose visas due to legal trouble.

He may not have been happy with his minutes so far - but everybody realizes (except maybe him?) that he is a big project. if he acted out the way it is being "suggested", he didn't do it in hopes if getting dismissed - especially since, as many have said, he could have transferred literally in a couple of days. If he did - well, he has much bigger problems than this dismissal.
