So if the implication is that Sodom is transferring, probably not a great look for the program. Why recruit the kid, who you know is a project, only to not be able to convince him to stay and learn from one of the greatest centers of all time? Maybe things were promised to Sodom when he was recruited that are not coming to fruition? On the surface, he'd be pretty stupid to leave. Not only because he can learn from Ewing, but he's got a clear path to playing time, both this year and moving forward - particularly with Govan likely going pro after this season. I'd have a really difficult time understanding a transfer this early in the kid's career...all that said, it's just speculation at this point, correct? Can't learn on the bench especially playing cupcake teams? Right? imo Lol. This was III's strategy forever; rarely playing his young bench against early season cupcakes. How long before Bradley Hayes saw the floor?

Thanks for the six or seven posts saying he's gone...if you know this to be the case, what's the reason? Might it be academics, which no one has mentioned, with the first semester just ending...don't think PE would run him off if he were doing what's expected of him....kid could leave "for more playing time" but I think that would be a bit premature of him at this stage...I guess we'll see...

This thread is ridiculous. Unless there is citation or even someone claiming to have inside info, this is just pure speculation based on some posters projecting their own disappointment that Sodom has not played onto Sodom himself.
Deep breaths people.

If we lose Govan to the pros and Sodom leaves, we have big shoes to fill. 🙃 Going, going, gone? lol... If I were 7'3" and you didn't play me especially during cupcake season I'd be angryyyy too. If you didn't show confidence in me I'd be angry as well. All you have to do is throw the ball to the rim and let him go and get it or he will catch shots coming off the rim for the jams. smh Crazy! I know this is AAU video, but he'd still do this in college period imo. I loved giving young people confidence and helping them believe in themselves. usatodayhss.com/2016/video-at-7-3-chris-sodom-can-own-the-paintI had this tall kid on my squad at the Gtown bball camp. I had to give him up to another team, but the coach came to me and said this kid was not good at all, so I asked this coach to give him back to me and I'll give you one of my kids because I had an extra player, and he was pretty good too. When I had gotten this kid back on my team I told him the coach that took you said you were no good. smh. I could see the hurt in this kid's eyes, I was hurt as well, but you know what I told him? I told this kid, "look man, I want you to rebound for us and jump as high as you can. Look up to the ceiling. I want you to reach for the ceiling and grab every ball you can. I don't believe what that other coach told me." This kid OMG did exactly and more of what I told him to do and grabbed key rebounds to our championship!!!" We went 7-0 at the camp and JTIII before handing out championship trophies mentioned this was the most intense and best championship game ever played at this Gtown basketall school/camp. Coach's were literally trying to beat me, but not my team. I told them this is about the kids, not me, but this made me angry so was intense the whole time and our team came out with the big prize. Just this alone left me on a natural high. I was so happy for this kid and our team. What a week!!!

That's a helluva violation of team rules.

Wow, coach Ewing isn't joking around.
I guess the Hoyas will truly have to play more zone to ward off any foul trouble.

Sodom was effectively unplayable this season as it is. Doesn’t effect the team as much as we think. We’re just going to see more of Marcus at the five and I’m guessing Walker gets more minutes too.
That said, it’s a huge blow for the future of the team. Sodom had incredible potential given his height and speed for his height. We need a big project as well as a transfer for next year.

I agree with your second sentence.

Sodom didn't want to be here. He knows he can do better elsewhere. Oh, I'm just the messenger. lol

Don't know or care to know what he did but glad to see PE running a tight ship with accountability front & center.
