Most people would, at least in the short term, get worn down more than a little if they took on a new job leading a department that has some major deficiencies before they arrived. Add to that the amount of travel Patrick has to do and the inherent (and very public) stress that comes with his job, and you would be forgiven to expect him to look a little tired and to put on a few pounds.
It is great to see, however, that Patrick looks more and more healthy and happy every time we see him. He looks decidedly in better shape than he did when he took the job when I remember thinking he looked old.

Yes and no. The communications director position was not filled when Lori Hamamoto left during the season--it's being run out of Sports Information. Whether the basketball office chooses to hire another person for the job is yet to be determined. In the end, it's up to Patrick Ewing whether he wants to follow John Thompson's lead of an enforcer (as Bill Shapland was once referred to) or someone that is more accommodating with the smaller number of reporters covering the team.

DFW 1. do you know why Lori left or where she went? 2. yes, it IS up to Patrick. He left JT 34 years ago, spent years with the Knicks (Lori's previous employer) and 15 years as an asst coach in the NBA with several different teams. Point being, he has been exposed to a lot of different PR teams and philosophies. I can almost guarantee, each one took PR more seriously than did JT back in the day. Given all of that, it is a surprise there hasn't been more emphasis on Hoya PR. It's better than it was, but that is a comparison to a very low bar.

We have some Bad Hombres on the team next season. We won’t get pushed around and our rebounding should be improved.

Pat has the connections to get GU players invited to NBA workouts. See Govan, Mourning and Johnson. This should be a recruiting tool.

I am waiting to hear what the vertical leap for Gardner is. In his highlights he seemed to have some amazing hops.

Alexander is my wildcard this year. Could be a man amongst boys. Excited to see him run.
