Huge missed opportunity.
Natural rival with Creighton, basketball only. Should have packaged them up with UConn (if they're ever ready to give up on the delusion of being a relevant football program) or another basketball-focused school and gotten to our ideal 12.

Doubt Gregg Marshall leaves, Wichita State has a pretty experienced group returning and will probably contend for the top of the conference. It'll probably hurt UConn because part of the AAC voting yes was giving SMU, Cinci, and UConn (maybe someone else too?) a guaranteed home and home. With how their roster looks next year, that'll be 2 losses.

This should strengthen AAC basketball to the point that there is little reason for Uconn to make any move towards the BE.Not that there was much of a chance to begin with.

Agree with sleepy. I don't know how this can be viewed as hurting UConn (or any other AAC team). Maybe they take an extra loss or two in some years, but it adds credibility to their league.

Great coach and program.
Most major programs would not want them in their conference. Tough to beat them. lol
They will be a thorn in the side of UCONN and other teams, but will bring more legitimacy to the league.

Good move for the conference and the team.
