Let's try this again.
"Only Georgetown University's coaches who have successfully completed the NCAA Recruiting Rules Examination on an annual basis may be involved in the recruitment process. Representatives of athletics interests (alumni and boosters) MAY NOT make any recruiting contacts. This includes letters, e-mails, text messages, telephone calls or face-to-face contact on or off campus with a prospect or the prospect's parents."
Additional questions should be directed to Christopher Ray in the compliance office.

wtf people. Just tweet at them or not. But a meta-debate about tweeting at recruits? this has to be the single most dysfunctional use of time possible. Second only, perhaps, to complaining about how silly that debate is.

(2) Christopher Ray can be reached at 687-8206 or christopher.ray@georgetown.edu (3) It really would be fascinating to get his take on whether compliance is actually possible and if we are drawing the right line on what is permissible. If the rules really are strict liability, is it permissible to post to HoyaTalk if we know that recruits read the message board? Can I tweet that I'd like Waters to come to Georgetown if it isn't DMed to him? Am I allowed to get drinks with friends who happen to be coaches of high school or other amateur sports teams?

There's something wrong about adults tweeting at these kids. Don't do it just because other fans do it. No, it won't impact his decision. He is basically telling you that it's impacting his decision. Fan support definitely helps recruiting on the margins. Its not even debatable

I'm certainly not a compliance officer but you are always allowed to have contact with someone with whom you have a pre-existing relationship (adult or recruit) though even then there are rules about benefits. I think the answer to your other questions are that you're generally allowed to do things that don't involve direct contact. A post on a message board, thus, is OK. A DM is not, since it's no different qualitatively from a phone call.

Why are you fools still debating tweeting whether a teenager and debating whether it it a compliance problem? If Admin says it is not advisable, why fight it?

Man, just let Waters live his own life, and make his own decisions to where he wants to play at next year.

we maybe a tourney team if we add waters to what we have to date and with the right transfer addition(s) we could just solidify those chances.

Waters looking good tonight against U of Houston. If we had him this year it would have been a plus. He has poise, leadership and performance skills. This is just an acknowlegement ...clips don't always say much too me.

If we had Waters ....jt3 would still be coach. My guess is that he’d still be running the Princeton offense.

But comeon B&G, don't be disingenuous, you know as well as anyone that there was very little Princeton being run the latter half of JT3's tenure at Georgetown.

Well whatever we were running, it wasn't satisfying or effective. I'm happier with the direction of the team.

If we kept JT3, the Princeton would be here...not sure about Waters. That scenario would have been horrific.
