It seems pretty obvious that Timberlake didn't want to stay home as he didn't have any schools in the DMV in his Final list. That's perfectly fine and common for not just high school athletes but students overall wanting to get away from home when they go off to college. For someone who lived in South Florida for 15 years, I can absolutey see the attraction for a college age athlete wanting to go to Miami particularly if that student is from a cold weather climate. Hard to ignore the great weather and beautiful women.
IMO the Hoyas got a player just as good as Timberlake in Terrance Williams. Williams was willing to stay local and his commitment made the pursuit of Timberlake unnecessary.
If anything, I think the Hoyas coaching staff was very smart in Timberlake's recruitment. They probably had the conversation with Timberlake early and was made aware of his desires to leave the area for college. They found a local prospect of comparable talent level that was more then happy to stay home and become a Hoya...

Would love to get back in the mix with Timberlake if T-Will is wavering.

I wouldn't be surprised if he, Lykes and Baldwin wind up here and I wind up losing my beloved Pickett, Blair, Bile and possibly Carey. I wouldn't want to lose my guys but something tells me that the DC kids want to come home to play for the beloved and now restored Georgetown brand.
Don't be surprised if the local and non local kids start clamoring to play for the legend just like the big high school stars wanted to play for Big John after Patrick arrived on campus as a high school phenom! I still want my boys to come back for another year though

Would he slot in at the 4? because until we find out who is using the extra year then that should be a priority and there is no way we have the space for any more than 1 new transfer (or freshman) player (via Carey maybe leaving) since (rhetorical question:) who would want to leave now?

I mean, as far as the national media is concerned, this turn-around has only been going on for a few days. You think those guys suddenly decided to leave Miami because of that? I have my doubts.

I still want my boys to come back for another year though Well based upon his own statements and his age I think that you can assume Pickett is not coming back. Blair should also have opportunities to play for money somewhere and Bile has done nothing to hurt his prospects for a paying job at east overseas. Carey hopefully is back as a designated sniper on a team that is going to need shooters next year. I think that what we have learned this year is how much better Ewing’s offense looks when there are numerous perimeter threats.

Hoyas are already one scholarship over for next year (counting Carey and his one more year of eligibility that he came in with). Timberlake's explainations have focussed on not liking being away from home area, injured, and not being able to hang out with the team. Having a fresh start closer to home is his interest.
But, like most players they have been watching the transformation at Georgetown the past month and talking about how the team came together last year. The style of play at Georgetown with full effort on both ends and defense leads to transition ball and kick to 3s, that is what a lot of players are looking for. The chatter with players looking at destinations and have offers has been growing louder and it didn't start this week with the BET, but they see how Ewing treats his players and they have also seen the growth in current Hoya's games. That means a lot, even to players who are possible 5 stars.
Ewing is now drawing attention of players who want to play in his program in his style of play. He came in with no book of recruits he had been talking to and building relationships with for 4 to 6 years (while they are pre-freshman before their first season of high school play is done they D1 coaches officially can't talk directly to players, but they do talk with grassroots coaches and do bump into them at grassroots recruiting tournaments. Recuiting in one year isn't going to get much of anything but players wanting a switch out of something they don't want, it isn't because they love the type of play or the coach and have a relationship. That doesn't happen in 2 or 3 years.
This year's freshmen, for the most part were recruits that relationships were built with and are hear because of Ewing and how the Hoyas play. Last year's crazy run with only 6 or 7 players and that style of play that was working, but needed depth is why they are at the Hilltop.
One week isn't why a 5 star puts his name in to transfer, but there is a lot behind it. Timberlake has made it clear he wants to be back in the DMV or nearby. He has said nothing about schools and can't. Hoya coaches know him well and Earl them as the coaches were at DeMatha a lot a year ago and at a lot of the summer tournaments DeMatha was participating in.
To think players are neive enough to think one week of showing out at a BET is why they are looking and talking, doesn't understand college recruiting and its long game and what players actually pay attention to (as well as their school and travel teams coaches care about and help them focus on).

Keep in mind Georgetown already is 1 over the scholarship limit for 21-22, so two players other than the seniors would have to leave (this is counting Carey as playing his 2nd eligible year he came to the Hilltop with as a grad transfer, yes he graduated early with 2 years of eligibility).
