Programs involved: Virginia Tech, Kansas State and Penn State Quite possibly the most talented prospect to hit the floor at DeMatha Catholic on Saturday, Timberlake lived up to the billing. Sure, his jumper remains a work in progress but he brings so much else to the table as a freshman -- he can defend the point guard spot down the power forward position and also facilitate a half-court offense. There might be something special in line with the Rock Creek star. Displaying shades of a younger Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, the recruitment of the 2020 standout is just beginning. I t's safe to assume that once the 2020 Rivals150 rankings are created, Timberlake’s name will be found at or near the top of the list.basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/metro-challenge-60-hubb-shines-among-crowded-talented-field

A do it all freshman, Earl Timberlake really impressed with his ability to get to the rim, play on the perimeter, and pass the basketball. There is no real way to define Timberlake as a specific position, he is quite simply a basketball player. Once he gets in prime shape he will be even better, and could be one of the highest recruited prospects in the area. he's tough!! When I was coaching, I tried to get one of the up-n-coming WCAC teams to get in early on him as an 8th grader playing for the District AAU team. He's going to be a good one.

Timberlake being on Team Loaded, not Team Takeover, is a big deal that helps us.

Not going to go into much detail about the interview but what he said about Akinjo was the best part. Kid (Akinjo) has a lot of respect amongst his peers to say the least.

This is the type of player that sustains a top program. A day one contributor that rises to all American status by junior or senior year.
The big man in 2019 seems to be the missing piece. Patrick is doing a very, very good job.

Patrick is doing a very, very good job. Not to nitpick but I would rather have an Akinjo than a Timberlake when you are talking about sustaining a top program. Timerberlake is an absolute stud, but I would be surprised if he goes to college for more than a year and maybe not that if they change the rule before then. What he would be great for is giving us someone to be drafted high which you could argue may be better long term. I guess it depends on whether you think winning or getting players in the league is more important. This all falls into my I would rather recruit in the 30-100 range than the top 5.
