What's the latest on the protest on campus? Any update for us not in and around DC? Not sure if anyone showed up, but from the protest's Facebook page: "Georgetown has now fired Coach John Thompson III, presumably in part because of the actions of students and fans like you. We still encourage all fans to come out and tell the administration what to do next. We won't be celebrating per se, but we welcome you to do so if you choose. The weather should be picture perfect so come have a burger & join us!"

Probably should take a look at what happened to Paul Ryan today...way harder to get consensus on a plan forward than it is to form an opposition.

Please do not have a bunch of over privileged Georgetown students, who likely didn't go to a game this season, out celebrating the firing of a Thompson from Georgetown. The optics there will be horrendous. If they must do something, maybe make it a celebration of III's achievements over the past 13 yeears, or a Thank You to the Coach. Or I'd be aligned with a anti-Amaker rally as well.

The young woman in the shades and purple top appears to be giving the Esh signal.

We're not going to stomp on the grave of the program's legacy, but hey it's cool if you do and we've got burgers! What a bunch of brats.

Or I'd be aligned with a anti-Amaker rally as well. This message to the "protesters" really rubs me the wrong way and gets me fired up. For everyone involved with or following the program, the last two years have been really tough. And what the students and fans have experienced is nothing compared to the pain that the players and coaching staff have experienced. The idea that, on the day after this decision, folks would be so cavalier ("hey, stop by, tell the school what to do, or at least have a burger") seems absolutely absurd to me on the day that a good coach and even better man was told to leave Georgetown after devoting thirteen years of his life to this program and even more years to following us and cheering for us. Today should have been an opportunity on campus to thank both Coaches Thompson for their half-century of contributions to this school. I was ready for a change after the last two years, but I feel the sadness today realizing that JTIII has lost his dream job. I also realize just what a great man we dismissed, and I don't take that lightly at all. His successor has very big shoes to fill. This is a time for optimism, but the idea of just having a burger and thinking about what to demand of the University next really strikes me the wrong way.

Too bad Tyler Crawford didn't show up to Mr. Hadar's little cookout. The kid is proving himself to be the punk that I thought he was. Calling for a coaching change can be rooted in a love of the program. Celebrating a good man's dismissal from his job after he tried hard to build that program (albeit quite unsuccessfully, of late)—what's that about? How is that anything other than cruel?

Clearly an attention-seeking, sad little man. We can probably take solace in the fact that Tyler will not be the last person in this dweeb's life who threatens to clean his clock - but he may be the only one who doesn't actually do it.

Am I the only one who thinks it's a bad look to be serving up burgers on a Lenten Friday?

As a long time fan watching this entire soap opera from afar, I was wondering to myself how long it would take until this young man got his own thread on one of these message boards. Frankly, I find his arrogant, entitled behavior completely disgusting. Whether he supported coach JT III or did not, there are other ways to behave rather than starting a petition to end someone's career and then attempting to hold a campus wide crusade where you are going to finish in front of the president's office? I can't think of how many Georgetown fans are completely disgusted and fed up with this kid. Perhaps he could have learned something about humility, grace and class by watching the way coach JT III left rather than spending time trying to promote his own selfish interests.
