Wow! No worries about transparency. Patrick was very open and honest. Key points: The program fell below standards and used the term "rebuild" many times.
Made nice comments about JT3 personally but did not sugar coat the situation.
The team "underachieved" and had more talent than the record showed. He also acknowledged that some are thinking of leaving, that he will meet with the team individually tomorrow, and that they will have to buy in. The summer will also be crucial for focus on academics and the weight room. Acknowledged the learning curve, especially in recruiting, and will rely heavily on staff to educate him. Best of all, will install an NBA style. Interestingly, he focused on offense -- pushing the ball, playing faster, and threes, but stated that he needs players that have the talent to do this. Very impressed. Glad Coach Ewing mentioned it, some people were okay with the status quo. I remember after the 2007 Final Four 4 win, Patrick Ewing was screaming "We are back, we are back." Unknown to him and everyone else at the time that would be the height of the JTIII era.

For 2 weeks plus posters were debating if JTIII should be kept or not and some stating III deserved a chance to come back for a possible 3rd consecutive losing season It still takes 1. Tremont Waters transferring 2. LJ Peak going pro 3. An organized student protest march 4. A hoya's legend son announcing he was transferring 5. The Board over ruling the President & AD All of this happened after the season ended for a change to occur

And to make this even remotely close to relevant to this thread, I would add that Patrick Ewing himself seemed to agree up to the time of the firing.

How long did you want to see a change come, next year, the year after, 5 years from now?

No reason to keep debating this.
