WOMEN:
Kennedy gets in as the final qualifier as an inordinate number of women ahead of her on the annual performance list scratch either due to health or to focus on other events. Great luck for Kennedy to get in and good luck at the meet!
MEN:
Joe is well positioned in the field as the sixth fastest qualifier.
Scott makes it in the 3000m, which is a straight final and the last individual distance event of the meet. No runners outside the top 16 made the field, as there were no scratches among the original qualifiers.
Jon recovered from his Fall ailments and is in the 5000m field.
The men's DMR made the field as the "13th" seeded team after a "scratch." It should be noted that Hoyas were listed behind Virginia Tech's "A" and "B" squads, representing two times run with one or more runners changed, so Georgetown was never worse the 12th fastest "school" on the list. (
Good luck Hoyas!

Good info, birdman. I was surprised that Kennedy made it. She has been running well both in XC and indoors, but there were a lot of runners before her. I am glad that she got in. The men's DMR team was on the bubble, but they were definitely a team that should have made it, and they did.

Plus former Hoya Ryan Manahan, who is running for Ole Miss now, made the 800m as the final entry:
16 416 Ryan Manahan SR Ole Miss 1:47.76 Ryan will also be running lead off on the Ole Miss DMR team.
Joe White is only 0.29 s off the lead in the 800m as UTEP's freshman Kenyan leads the pack.

Great luck for Kennedy to get in and good luck at the meet! One of those women who scratched and who was right ahead of Kennedy was Sam Nadel, former Georgetown runner, who went to Oregon as a grad student.

Sigh! Yes, I know. He will be hard to beat. It seems as if Joe is in pretty good shape and has a good attitude. Let's hope for the best!

Joe has a fantastic shot, I wasn't arguing or contradicting you on that point. I was just adding information to pad my post totals haha. An interesting note is that Korir's last race was a DMR leg on February 10. He didn't run with the team at the Husky Invite at UW, or at the Conference USA meet, so who knows if coaches were giving him a rest after a couple intense January performances, or if there's an issue that's emerged.

That is interesting about Korir's not running since Feb. 10. I think Joe has won all his races this season except his mile fling at BE, so yes he stands a good shot. He has said that he used to get intimidated racing some of the top guys, but he said that has changed and he belongs in that crowd.

From Letsrun.com Joseph White is another guy who has a real chance at the win, as he won a fast 800 at Iowa State on February 11. Like ACCs, that race contained three NCAA qualifiers, and he’s also the only collegian to beat Harris this year. But he was only 11th in the mile final at Big Easts. We don’t know whether that was due to a fluke like a fall or injury, but if White is in top form, he’s going to be tough to beat. Also, on their web survey Joe was picked by 8% to win - better odds than the Hoyas have of winning the BET.

Unfortunately, Kennedy finished eighth in her heat and will not advance to the final of the women's mile.

Thanks for the updates. I have been on travel and did not have access to a computer. Great results for the DMR. I would like to see the splits. Mississippi might have had an ex-Hoya running, Ryan Manahan. Also great result for Joe. He won the slower heat, so that is always good in going into the final. GO JOE!!!

Great team result for the men:
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Georgetown University track & field team had another stellar day to close out the 2017 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, highlighted by All-American Joe White (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) finishing third in the men's 800-meter finals. The Hoya men finished 16th overall with 12 points, the best team finish since 1995 when the Blue & Gray tallied 15 points, good enough for 16th place.
Hoyas came in ranked 36th in the nation, and it is great that they managed a 16th place finish. Best for the Big East. The Hoyas stomped Nova, as I believe they scored 1 point. Take that Wildcats!!!!!!!!!!
