It would be special (miraculous?) to get a win for our seniors.
Although a totally irrational thought - the only infinitesimally chance of an NCAA bid would be to win the BET. That would require beating Nova Thursday after beating the Johnnies on Wednesday. And if we beat Nova Sunday, they will want revenge and will crush us if we play next week.

Nice game overall by Reggie & Bradley last night. I rail on those guys to no end but I hope we are respectable on saturday.

What does everyone think? We keep it close or get blown out?
All facts point to getting blown out. But since we now live in an alternative facts world, who knows?

Yes, support the team. Let your voice be heard. If you want to cheer...........cheer. If you want to chant "Fire JT3"......chant. Both ways are supporting your team. Just from two different perspectives.

Just from two different perspectives. Chanting does not in any sense support the seniors in their final home game. But of course you knew that.

He just wants to make sure that JTIII keeps the money rolling in for the family. I think the Thompsons all have plenty of money. Their financial security is the least of my concerns. I will be concerned, however, with the future of the program if the administration makes a rash move and does not retain the current staff.

Do you really have the confidence that JT3 can get the program back to the top of the conference? I just don't see it happening. Now, I am not sure the next guy can accomplish it, but I am willing to take the risk at this point. Recruiting, motivating, developing, in-game coaching- what is he good at?

You might be right, it might not support the seniors but it does support the juniors, sophomores and freshmen. We hope they have a better future w/ a competent coach. The only thing fans can do is put pressure on the administration to make a change.

I can honestly say that I don't have confidence that he will turn things around but I just want to see what his offense will look like with Waters running the show. Most of our losses are by less than 5pts. I really believe that only one of our loses couldn't have had a different outcome with a different PG (Ok St.). All of the BE loses, Wiscy, and MD we at some point during the game got within striking distance and then a bad stretch of offense and defense led to a run that put the games out of reach or snatched victory from defeat. Since JT3 has decided to try to change his offense he hasn't had the players to really pull it off. Next year's team will be loaded with athletes that can run the wings. Minus MD and Jesse. But those players can give us offense in other ways and MD has improved his conditioning each year. I know we are all tired but Waters can be a game changer for JT3 and Gtown. I think that Administration should sit JT3 down after the season and say we need to see major improvements in the W/L columns or we will make a change. We hoped that Jon or Jagan could fill the role of facilitator but one is not ready and the other is just fast with the ball but really doesn't do much setting up. Both are perfect for backup duty at PG but this team needs more from its PG. IMO. Now I want to add that JT3 should not have any mulligans. He has used them up over the last 7yrs. If Tremont shows up on campus and he isnt as good as we hope or the "I" word (that I will not type) were to occur then I would shake his hand and wish him better luck at his stop..........

We gave them a strong game in Philadelphia a few weeks ago, and I suspect we will hang around for a half and change before Villanova puts it away. Villanova is just too good I think to lose to us, especially right now. I do think our guys will play tough and inspired though. As I mentioned in the Seton Hall thread, I'll be at the game. I'm also taking my dad to his first Hoya game in DC while my wife is out of town. We are both looking forward to it and won't be bringing any signs one way or the other. Hoya Saxa--let's do the best we can on Saturday.

I think if Jay Wright gives us some pity it plays close but if they are ramping up to keep that train rolling we lose by at least 15. Anyone know the current line on this one?

I think his body of work says that he is very good at all of the above. To say "the last two years have been bad" is no more persuasive to me than saying "2007 and 2013 were really good." I cannot and will not write off anything he has done- including his work at Princeton. To me, the whole of it says that he is a fine coach. We know he is one of the few people with the academic and personal characteristics unique for this job. To me, retaining him is the obvious choice. The risks of a new and unknown coach far outweigh the risks of keeping him. All of us can evaluate those risks differently, and reasonable minds can differ, but the attacks on III are crazy and unwarranted.

How much more time do you give him to improve performance? What do you view as success? Even when we have had good seasons, we tend not to shine in the post season. '07 and Princeton days are getting further in the rearview mirror.
