...hopefully the staff is reaching out to the "people" associated with some of these coaches' class of 2017 recruits. A list of their committed players:
NC State: Thomas Allen, SG (247 Ranking: #149), though he's an unlikely target as he played on the same AAU team (Garner Road) and prep school (Brewster Academy) as Isaac Copeland Indiana: Clifton Moore, PF/C (247 Ranking: #141), Justin Smith, SF (247 Ranking: #72), Al Durham PG/SG (247 Ranking: #237) - Moore's a really interesting late bloomer from PA who the Hoyas were reported to be recruiting at one point Clemson: Aamir Simms, SF/PF (247 Ranking: #116), AJ Oliver, SG (247 Ranking: #175), Malik William, PF (247 Ranking: #191), Clyde Trapp, SG (247 Ranking: #298) - Simms was a major target of former Hoyas assistant Kevin Sutton and the Hoyas were thought to be the leader in his recruitment prior to Sutton's departure
My take is the Hoyas could certainly use another big man going into next season and Moore/Simms would be ideal late additions. A true shooter wouldn't hurt, either, with Allen being a potentially interesting target if the relationships with Garner Road and Brewster are not beyond repair for this coaching staff.

I doubt Brewster has an issue with the Hoyas. Marcus went to Brewster and it seems to be working out well for him.
The Simms kid was a player that Georgetown was in on for a long time so maybe they would get another look if he decides to leave.
Would a player have to sit out a year if he signed a LOI for another school or is he instantly eligible if the coach leaves before he enrolls?

The school would have to release him from the LOI. Then I believe the athlete would be immediately eligible for a new school since he never enrolled at the initial school to which he committed. (Someone please correct me if I got this wrong!)

Sad we seem to always be looking for left-overs and never the dinner. I am fine with filling in a need or finding a player who adds depth. It seems our recruiting strategy of late is always out of need/desperation and never out of want.

Crean isn't going anywhere! He just won the BIG 10, beat Kentucky in the Tournament to make the Sweet 16 last season and has had multiple season ending injuries to NBA level talent this season. Indiana would be the dumbest program in the world to get rid of Crean especially coming off of several years of being irrelevant before he got there.

I thought you were going to say we would be looking at these coaches not their players. My guess is Crean, if fired, would love to come back to BE. Less pressure than his current situation and he'll always have way more success than this program is having.

Recruits D.C. well, has had success in the Big East, may not care as much about the pressure of replacing the Thompsons. I'd take him over JT3.

No thanks on Crean.
Can recruit, but will leave you disappointed with talented teams.

People were complaining about III when we were going to the tournament and leaving earlier than expected. That is what has happened with Crean at Indiana. He is not a great in-game coach either.

I think you have forgotten that Crean has done something that this program has not done in 10 years plus and that is beat Kentucky to make a Sweet 16 last year, If JTIII would have done that within the last 5 years, the fan base overall would put with another 3 more years of what the last 2 years have been

Other coaches have beaten Kentucky too in the tournament. Crean has talented teams that fail to live up to expectations at IU. Outside of the final four with Dwyane Wade, never made a sweet sixteen with Marquette. Before these past 2 years, III suffered from a similar problem. Crean isn't going to take us to where Wright has taken Villanova or what Ryan did at Wisconsin. If we let go of III, that should be the next step. Not more of the same with Crean.

You are way off base here with this one way. I'm surprised as you always seem to take a fair approach. Crean would be a godsend for this program. We are now talking about bringing in someone from Monmouth as the savior.

Assuming a coaching change is made, whether this season or next. . .we're not bringing in a savior, whether it's King Rice from Monmouth or another "flavor-of-the-week." This roster will require a reboot. Question: How long are you willing to wait for dramatic results? Two seasons? Three seasons?
What happens if the next Hoya coach treads water, with Big East records ranging from 5-11 to 10-8, and overall seasonal records never exceeding 16 or 17 wins? Do we then tear it down again after three or four seasons without NCAA success, and start over? Is that the type of program that we want to have?
I'm not saying that a change isn't required, or even that it shouldn't be made. It's just that I believe that those expectations that we collectively had six seasons ago may be unrealistic going forward.
