He has a look about him that says, "I'm all business"...I like that and I'm sure PE does as well because he was exactly the same way...

I like the locals, because they will help fill seats.

Love to hear this. One or two locals can open the gates, but regardless this kid is a stud.

Have to assume good players like Williams are going to take their visits and see what these programs have to offer. At one point I would have been really concerned if a recruit that the program really wanted went on a visit to ND because they had some significant success for a few years. At this point, unless Williams just does not want to stay local, I can't imagine why he would select ND over Georgetown. Georgetown is a better academic university, is closer to his home and the basketball program has to be viewed as being in a better position right now for success. I get that the ACC thing is a big deal for some kids but the Big East should be set to have a couple of great years coming up. Sounds like the staff is really working hard for Williams and hopefully they ca close the deal on him.

For some reason USN&WR ranks UND over GU. ☹️ Could be their relatively large endowment.

Not the craziest list to compete with. Got to figure the biggest threats besides us are UVA and ND.

For some reason USN&WR ranks UND over GU. ☹️ Could be their relatively large endowment. You always have to be careful on the criteria when you look at rankings. In the case of USN&WR it boils down to things like class size, alumni give back (donations), and a number of other like things. Now with ND's spotlighted FB team I think they have a big advantage there. And most people would agree with the USN&WR ranking because of name recognition of ND being a bit greater than G'town. However, having a student graduation from McDonough next week and a new entering student next year I have looked at the numbers very closely. The acceptance rate at G'town is in the 12-13% range while ND is in the 18-19% range. Where do you think more people apply, I ask? And then look at another factor if you really talk about the true validity of the USN&WR rankings. The University of California, Berkeley in almost any international ranking is in the top five in the world, but in USN&WR it is tied with G'town at #20, being the top public school in the rankings. Now, I ask are 20 private schools better than Cal (Berkeley)? I think not. So you really have to look at the criteria used. With that said I believe Georgetown to be the Number 1 Catholic University in the country, and if you look at the Big East it is not even close. Nova is the only school even close at a 29% acceptance rate. The rest of the BEAST is 40-50% AR and higher.

The 2018 numbers: Georgetown 22,897 Notre Dame 20,371 But to be fair, Fordham had twice as many as either of these (46,164). It's not the applications, it's the yield.

Not the craziest list to compete with. Got to figure the biggest threats besides us are UVA and ND. I was gonna say UVA and Stanford....UVA because they are the hot team now and they probably have more people in the L than us. Stanford because of there campus and if he wants to go west we can't compete with that...the rest of the list I can't see him choosing over GTown unless he wants out of the DMV....

Good that he’s decided to focus at this point. Any idea of a timeline?

Great to see us compete for some of the top local talent. This is required to recapture Hoya greatness.
