I hate that UCONN gets all of the generational girls......the only one that they didn't get was Griner and I think she just wanted to stay close to home.....

I didn't realize we were looking at Trevor Keels Paul VI '21, per wponds above, but will report back any thoughts on him following the VISAA semi's in Petersburg, VA tonight (PVI takes on Episcopal at 7PM). Didn't know to pay attention to him during the WCAC semis' on Sunday...
McDonough tonight hosts the DC "state championship" semi-finals -- 7PM Maret v. Wilson; 9PM St. John's College Prep v. Sidwell Friends. I note that here because a few days ago I posted (above) that the bracket meant Terrance Williams/Gonzaga COULD play in this game and would be a nice opportunity to see him in the friendly confines. BUT Gonzaga got thrashed Wednesday in the quarters by SJCP 64-46 (can you say "let down" game?), so that opportunity is gone... Gonzaga's season is NOT yet over, as they will play in the Alhambra tournament next week in Cumberland, MD (first game March 7). As to tonight's McDonough games, Maret and their 6'8"- ish forward EJ Jarvis (Yale commit) beat Flint Hill/Qudus Wahab in a MAC regular season game a few weeks ago and can be fun to watch; Wilson is the Post's #1 Metro area team now and star the 6'10" Mitchell twins (MD commits for next year -- so you can go to boo them); and SJCP shouldn't have much trouble with a very tiny (but scrappy/sound) Sidwell team.

That’s why they play the games redux: Sidwell stunned area #1 Wilson and the 6’10” Mitchell twins 63-62 in OT to win the City championship! Quite the tribute to Sidwell, with zero size but a very effective play style at both ends. The results of last several days, with carnage within the WCAC and some losses outside of it, sets up a situation where 25-3 Stephen’s-St. Agnes could well jump from #8 to area #1 from #8 (winners of the IAC regular season and tournament championship, plus VISAA state championship).

I hate that UCONN gets all of the generational girls......the only one that they didn't get was Griner and I think she just wanted to stay close to home..... UConn has had a lot of recruiting misses in the past 2-3 years. There hasn’t been a generational talent since Stewie. UConn missed on Baby Bruney, Boston etc. They are loosing Lou and Pheese after this year and are only bringing ONE recruit that is NOT a generational talent but a nice addition. It’s my believe that Geno is targeting very few top girls and has struck out! Sometimes you need top talent but you also need complimentary girls with some KI as well. Next year UCONN is going to struggle, will probably lose a conference game for the first time ever, and is no guarantee to make it back the elite 8. Tough sledding ahead. Can a 64 year old All time great coach, Geno fix this? Stay tuned.

3. GONZAGA COLLEGE MAKES ITS MARK
No city in America boasts better high school basketball than Washington, D.C., and it's hard to find a better collection of talent in our nation's capital than in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.
Gonzaga starts three Rivals150 standouts. Myles Stute has risen up the rankings in recent months thanks to his toughness and frontcourt versatility. Chuck Harris is an underrated gem at the lead guard spot that Butler and George Washington have already come to covet. Finally, Terrance Williams is the ultimate shot-maker that has taken official visits to Stanford and Virginia.

Lets goooo. I'm glad to see we've stepped it up on him, just month ago Stanford and UVA were hardest after him. Keep it up, Pat & co.
