They have enough good players. But they were a final four contender with Watson. Not anymore. How good is that Patton kid, he is a pro. Just watch the talent on our rivals and it signals a much needed change in our recruiting strategies. Hmm. Who foresaw White and Ike leaving, and Ike getting off to such a slow start. They were supposed to be experienced upperclassmen now, ready to lead the team. That recruiting seemed solid. We certainly didn't get the results we hoped for, however. Kaleb is getting minutes ticketed for White and Ike.

Sounds like Watson avoided a season ending injury: Did not realize McDermott was a doctor. Or did they have an MRI in the locker room?

Not that this means anything in the grand scheme of things but a win over Provy tonight and the Hoyas are only one game in the loss column out of 4th place. The middle of this conference is going to be a dog pile.

Mo Watson officially done at Creighton with a torn ACL. I feel bad for the kid but happy for GTown. I know we looked bad last night but there is still a chance at finishing in the Top half of the conference.............I know I'm dreaming

That was my point - you can't tell if there is a tear without an MRI. Maybe it was wishful thinking by McDermott, or maybe he was mislead by someone. Just did not seem right.

They probably did a preliminary examination, manipulating the knee at the arena, without the benefit of an MRI. They didn't see the damage until the MRI was done. I don't think it was wishful thinking on McDermott's part, nor his being misled. Just initial information proving to be erroneous.

In these types of situations most coaches and PR guys nowadays will layout the worst case scenario and then hope for the best because the alternative is that the fans get this false hope that is cruelly crushed when the MRI comes back.

Watson should not have been in the game in the first place. Two minutes earlier he was writhing in pain on the floor for bumping knees with a Xavier player. He was on the bench for a few minutes and Xavier started to make a run. McDerrmot put him back in despite him obviously limping and favoring his left leg. That's when you are more prone to injury when you are trying to protect against an injury by favoring the injured limb. He went up for a layup and came down awkwardly on the injured leg.

Don't disagree. However, I'm a hockey fan. . .we hear all about upper body injuries and lower body injuries, which are never defined and detailed until after the Stanley Cup playoffs are over for a team/player. It's only then that the reconstructive surgeries are publicized and scheduled. Because of that, I rarely pay any attention to initial injury announced diagnoses.

Just watching both plays, my money is on that he tore it on the first play.. The mechanism that he went through on the first play is much more congruent with an ACL tear than the second play..

Good game going between Florida State & ND.. Bonzi Colson is the 5 for ND.. It was a great game but somehow ND found a way to lose a game in which they hit 15/21 from 3. That is awfully hard to do in college.
