We would have come at these guys with waves of big men. Plus, he's the only guy with a mean streak on this team. Wish some would rub off on Isaac.

You know I love you buddy but I don't think he's the issue at all. I can't believe we didn't come out angry after Tuesday night. Making a 20 point 2nd half comeback just reaffirms (to me) that we didn't come out ready to play.

So our starting center who put up 20 points and 8 rebounds tonight was the problem? Interesting take...

Great question! yes we miss Bradley big time. He is such a solid presence at he center position for us. Not to take anything away from Govan, but his lack of experience shows sometimes.

Govan was not a problem last night, but if people are so myopic they can't see that this team would be greatly improved with two of its top players (Hayes and Derrickson) available, I don't know what to say. At a minimum, there would have been 9 more minutes of offensive threat in the post. Hayes' steadying and organizing effect on defense via verbal leadership was both underrated and very evident to those paying attention last year. This team desperately needs that now.

All this is great, and maybe excuses the loss to Maryland. Under no circumstances should we lose to the team picked to finish 10th in the SunBelt, with or without Hayes and Derrickson.

Agree completely. However, to completely ignore those 2 absences as a factor speaks more to another agenda than it does to legitimate criticism.

WELL SAID MY FRIEND marcus must be still hurting and last year bradley DESTROYED maryland bigs a few DUMB plays at the end of both games or we COULD be with marcus and bradley 3-0 HATE FAIR WEATHER FANS yup game of inches. GO HOYAS MUST WIN AT LEAST TWO IN HAWAII.

And Hayes is still developing -- he's a late bloomer who was considered a project when he signed his LOI, and I think he still has plenty of room to get better. I hope the layoff didn't set him back much, and look forward to seeing him out there vs Wisconsin, if just to get his feet wet.

It will be interesting to see how the first half against Oregon turns out

Hayes played pretty well. Some of those posters who lamented his return in favor of Govan at this point are wrong - we need Govan to develop a lot more and we need bodies in the interior.

I'm concerned for next year. We've seen how Hopkins, Lubick, Josh, etc. never improved their weaknesses. We need another big who is ready to play 20 mpg asap.
