Do any of these guys understand how insurance works?
In this latest bill, essential benefits are out. Protections for those with pre-existing conditions also.
The new Republican plan to repeal Obamacare would bring preexisting conditions back to the individual market, allowing insurers to charge sick people higher premiums — or deny them coverage outright.
Those waivers do have some guardrails. The bill says states cannot tether an individual's premiums to "sex or membership in a protected class under the Constitution of the United States."
Anything else — a cancer diagnosis, a history of breast cancer, a mild case of asthma — is fair game.

Trump: "I like Senators who vote yes without regular order."
Revenge is a dish best served cold (setting aside the "merits" of Graham-Cassidy). Bill is not dead yet but surely on life support with DNR orders written. Perhaps McCain has provided cover for Murkowski and Collins to vote no.

John McCain has my undying respect. As for the other male Republican senators, they should only get what they deserve.

From the blind squirrel department, Trump likely to issue a common sense executive order that will permit purchase of health insurance across state lines.

We'll see what it looks like, but states are already allowed to let insurers sell plans outside their borders. No states have chosen to do so....
It was written into the original law but didn't go into effect until January 2016. Some states passed individual laws allowing this dating back to 2011.

No Executive Order needed although Trump may sign one to create some fake news -- similar to Trump's claim that Trumpcare would have passed but for the sick Senator (Thad Cochran) in the hospital who was neither in the hospital nor would his "yes" vote have made the difference anyway. The world of alternative facts. Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), Section 1333 permits states to form health care choice inter-state compacts to allow insurers to sell policies in any state participating in the compact. Two or more states may enter into compacts under which one or more insurance plans may be offered in the such states, subject to the laws and regulations of the state in which it was written. www.ncsl.org/research/health/out-of-state-health-insurance-purchases.aspx

"Iowa tried for months to get federal permission to fix their health insurance markets but they were shut down by Trump admin officials"
President Trump told the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Seema Varma to deny a request from the Republican-controlled state of Iowa to fix their health-care marketplace, according to The Washington Post. ___
