My type of game. Low scoring, pitchers working their way out of jams. Wish I had a rooting interest in the series.

My type of game. Low scoring, pitchers working their way out of jams. Wish I had a rooting interest in the series. It was an odd "pitchers' duel" in that no starter really dominated and both were out of the game pretty quickly, but I LOVE games like that. Just wish they wouldn't punish everybody with the long commercial breaks between half innings. That game was 45 mins longer than it should have been, even with all the strategic moves and pitching changes. Fans of both teams really want this one. Kinda fun watching without a rooting interest, though it must be insane for those with a stake in things!

Yeah, originally I was going to say "well pitched", and it was a well piched game on both sides. But the thing I really enjoyed listening to was both teams escaping potential run scoring situations with no damage done. Tight, tense, taut baseball I find the most compelling. Like you, I just love those types of games! Wish the Nats were in it... The length of the games all postseason has beem maddening. Since I'm one of those early to bed, early to rise persons, that extra hour+ I must devote to games has thrown me off.

I can't believe the tightrope the Indians are walking. They're not hitting, and they don't have enough starting pitching to fill out a rotation. They've got to find some way to get a lead and then overwork the bullpen to cling to it. If they give up a couple of runs (especially early), they're going to lose. I don't know how they got this far, and I don't know how they can do this two more times. But if they do, this is an all-time great postseason run.

KC did ok leaning on the bullpen the past two postseasons.

That's an insightful response. Expected from you. What a Edited. Takes one to know one? Response almost as insightful as shoehorning the KC Royals into the conversation? Your posts are ridiculous and unnecessary, repetitive and multitudinous. You should stop and pick up a hobby or something.

108 years for Chicago, 68 years for Cleveland, 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th to tie it, first HR given up as a Cub by Chapman, extra innings, rain delay.... gosh darn this is one of THE most exciting games I've ever seen, and I'm not from Chicago or Cleveland! Great for MLB. Gotta love it. HERE WE GO!

Congratulations to Chicago. It took them 108 years, 7 games and 10 innings... but they finally won. What an exciting game! COngrats to Cleveland too. Amazing game.
Now it's time for our Hoyas to bounce back and have a great season too.

What a game. Wow! That's how you end a 100 year+ drought. Cleveland looked dead in the water then rebounded and just kept coming.
What a way to go out for Ross after the wild pitch and then the homer and then the Indians tying it up despite it. Great, great game. Congratulations to the Cubbies and, while I still don't know how the Indians stayed in it with little in the way of offense, they ham and egg better than any team I've seen in probably 20 years. Great showing by both teams. The near future of the Cubs is bright.

That Cubs team has to be the best team since the 1998 Yankees, and possibly the best team since the Big Red Machine. I would need to think more on it, but there's a case to be made they're the best team of all time. That pitching staff is so ridiculous.

Not really. 103 wins, multiple all star / HOF potential caliber players in the lineup, a stacked bullpen, the reigning Cy Young Award winner, the ERA champion and Jon Lester as their top three pitchers. I'd take their starting pitchers over the pitching staff of the '98 Yankees and the Big Red Machine for sure. The various statistical sites have the Cubs as one of, if not the best defense of all time.

NOR WILL I STOP TYPING IN CAPS ALL DAY BECAUSE IT'S ALL I CAN DO TO STOP MYSELF FROM SCREAMING THAT THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES LAST NIGHT AND HOW IS ANYONE IN THIS DAMN OFFICE ABLE TO FOCUS! CLIENT EMAILS FROM ME TODAY ARE GOING TO PROVOKE WEIRD RESPONSES, BUT THAT'S NOT MY CONCERN!!!
SERIOUSLY WHO'S UP FOR ANOTHER VERSE OF GO, CUBS, GO!!!
