Hoyas #74, Davidson # 117, of 125 Division 1AA program.
Hoyas are 32 point favorites, that's a lot of points.
I like the Hoyas, but not by 32. What's your pick?

Nothing against Davidson (a school that suffers much the same football myopia as GU) but the Wildcats may be, pound for pound, the worst team in I-AA. Again, why is this the level of opponent Georgetown is scheduling for a season opener? Do we aim no higher than the bottom? What would bring more excitement to the campus: a game with Davidson or a game with Villanova, win or lose?

Here's an inflammatory statement, DFW: Davidson is FAR less of a safety than Nova ever was, is or will be. And, unfortunately, the current crop of students could care less whether it's Davidson or Nova in football..... I actually think this year's FB schedule is damn near close to ideal with the only exception of Marist, which, if we're dreaming, could be better subbed out for Navy or, more realistically, Howard. Or just a 4th Ivy.....

For this particular season, I think Davidson is a good opener. Next couple years, no way. To build a program, confidence is key. Teach the troups how to win and be successful, give them a taste of honey! Then bring in the steak! I love the idea DFW Hoya has about playing Villanova. I think that should be on a yearly basis, even the opener. I'm looking for a good, solid win against Davidson today. Go Hoyas!

I think Georgetown's defense will need to carry the team early. They have two outstanding DEs in Kiselick and Novacki, both quick and strong. Leo Loughrey looks huge this year at MLB, must weigh about 250 lbs. Their secondary has athletes and all the defense can run. I wouldn't be surprised if GU doesn't score alot of points today, they have to answer some questions. Who carries the workload at running back? How will Tim Barnes (QB) react to pressure seeing it's his first season behind the center. He has to outstanding targets to throw to in Hill and Williams. They need to beef up the running game this year, can the OL provide the holes to run? I'm hoping for at least 28 points today and giving up less than 10. Darmstadter is an efficient place kicker, adds another weapon. I predict a 31-10 Georgetown victory. Go Hoyas!

Villanova opens vs. Pittsburgh at Heinz Field, a money game for the Wildcats. Why would Villanova ever consider GU at Cooper Field?

Villanova opens vs. Pittsburgh at Heinz Field, a money game for the Wildcats. Why would Villanova ever consider GU at Cooper Field? Play Nova away in 2017 and home in 2018 when Cooper Field Project is due to be complete. I say make it an annual thing, a little Catholic rivalry.

Nova would be a bloodbath. That is not an opener you want for new students and potential fans.

What makes us think Nova has any interest in playing us? They opened today at ACC Pitt in front of 40-50K people.

Again playing this character where you ignore all info you don't like, but do you really not see why they might prefer to play Lehigh and Lafayette?
