If one twin is a 4 star and the other a 2 star, they shouldn’t be a packaged deal. Agree, that we could use an experienced big next year. Also, the team lacks a power forward. Can’t imagine having 5 raw underclassman bigs.

Since I'm a stats guy and a believer in the saying "the best thing about freshman is that they become sophomores" truly applies to most big men in college, I'll present you with two sets of numbers for those concerned about what they have seen from Wahab so far.
(Per 40 Minutes for both players) Full freshman season stats for Player 1: 12.7 pts, 9.2 Rebs, 1.5 Blks, 2.7 TO's with .457 FG% and .719 FT%
13 games freshman stats for Player 2: 13.2 pts, 10.7 Rebs, 2.5 Blks, 2.5 TO's with .486 FG% and .750 FT%
Player 1 happens to be our current starting center who performed pretty well in his sophomore year (even without the tutelage of Patrick Ewing)
Player 2 happens to be Mr Wahab who will continue to receive on the job training and then have a full offseason of development.
This is why I'm more concerned about a big body PF and additional ball handling/security guard help for next year. I think Q, Tim and Malcolm will be just fine manning the middle next year and not as concerned about the slight scoring gap that we may see at the 5. Does anyone really believe that Mac isn't going to score 20+ per game next year? I'm a hard pass on these 2 and hope we look to lock up 1-2 big men in 2021 class.

Maybe it is best to have the twins play not at the same school. Just for their sake - less competition between the two

If they want to be Hoyas, we should take them. The events of the past month and a half should be a lesson that thinking we know who will still be on the roster in two years is fortune telling. Take them. Even the lesser of the two is at least big. We always complain on here about not getting local talent and a local 4 star is available and we are turning our nose after a few wins.

You know why we take them? Because fudge Maryland! That's why.

They should probably split up for their own good: Mahki to GU, Markhel to GWU or elsewhere. Otherwise, no deal.

I 100% understand parents fiercely defending their children so I don’t blame their mother for having a strong opinion. But like Akinjo’s uncle, the Mitchell’s mother would probably be best keeping it off Twitter.

Can’t imagine having 5 raw underclassman bigs. They shouldn't be a package deal to a major college program....if the 4* is stuck on playing with his 2* twin then they have to go high mid major...

Do they think this is upselling their child?

Hopefully Pat is candid with them about our needs and their potential. We have a need at the four, not so much at the 5. Time would probably be available at the 4 even with a jump by Wilson in the offseason but two kids with the same skills might be one too many.

I agree, if the brothers are willing to split up and one of them is a capable PF for next season then I think it makes sense. Otherwise not sure if we are getting too many repetitive types of players. I trust the staff to make a good decision. Never a bad thing to meet with players who are interesting in being a Hoya

After the relationship built, wouldn’t Ewing meet with them locally no matter what? This could be to trigger other schools to act.

I like cold hard stats too, although the Mitchells do deserve special status given they are local talent. However, Makhi’s per game stats are unimpressive and he hasn’t yet panned out at Maryland. He’s also got baggage with the “package deal” and a manager in his mother that apparently won’t hesitate to air private team matters publicly. #hoyaparanoia I do think, though, the twins deserve a very welcoming opportunity to present THEIR pitch to GEORGETOWN as to why WE should take THEM. Lastly, this is nevertheless exciting to see. Local talent looking to transfer to Georgetown, a one-time 5-star, no less. We’re building momentum as a program. HOYAPLAYA, where do you pull the per-40-minutes stats from?

I think his mom did a great job. She could've been more articulate but twitter isn't the medium for being articulate.she did what Akinjo's people should have done in the first 24 hours. Control their own narrative. The coaches and schools and fans will flood the media and the web with info and opinions that will be mostly negative towards a transferring kid. Their mom getting out there and telling their side is a good thing all around. I would have thought that HoyaTalk with all of its pleas for full transparency would be happy to actually get some.

Look at all of the bigs that Turgeon has had since Texas A&M. Not a single one improved on his watch. And everyone that stayed beyond a year regressed. Contrast that with Derrickson, Mourning, Govan and Yurt7. What is an underperforming 4 under Turgeon could be a much different and better player under Ewing.
