Broadus just paid for himself. Maybe. Maybe not. Let's see what happens.

IMO land mind potentially avoided. I don't know the Mitchell twins but in general coaching/managing twins can be extremely difficult especially if one of the twins is significantly better than the other.
Also limits recruiting flexibility within that class.
The 19 class is ridiculously deep and talented especially in terms of size, skill, athleticism and talent.
Congrats to the Mitchell Twins but I wouldn't be surprised if the staff is a little relieved. If the staff lands Kofi/Stewart or other high level talent, no one will think twice about the Mitchell Twins.

Thanks to the recent hiring of Kevin Broadus , a one-time Georgetown assistant that established the best relationship with the twin siblings and their family, an early commitment had the chance to occur. "They are just now showing us a lot of love. It was Georgetown originally but now it's Maryland ," Makhi Mitchell said. "It is a good school, they have a great coach with Mark Turgeon, good atmosphere, and I just know a lot of players there that show us a lot of love." Makhel Mitchell spoke further to the Terrapin Sports Report on their pitch. "He (Broadus) says Maryland is just a good school and asks, "Why not come?" It's close to family and close to home,"he said. "He tells us what we need to do--good habits, bad habits, free throws." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/maryland-strikes-twice-with-makhi-makhel-mitchell

It's almost like giving two scholarships to one guy.

Until we start landing elite talent we can't hope to miss on guys like this thinking we will land someone better.
The positive is Maryland was one of the early frontrunners for Stewart and this eliminates them as a possibility.

It's moments like this that really highlight how out of touch some of you are with Georgetown's current place in the college basketball world. There is no way that Georgetown is better off without them. Crazy talk.

I have faith that Pat can land some quality bigs. Agree that it's like using up two scholarships on one player. We will see.

You're right but it does give our staff the greenlight to continue to pursue, perhaps more aggressively, those frontcourt players who have mutual interest in us.

They were a better fit with our old system.

I think you know what I mean and we are very fortunate to have landed him. It was a very unique recruitment.

Kids seems to be backing out of LOIs these days. Jucos, 5th years and transfers make recruiting unpredictable. We landed a stud in Pickett just a few weeks before school.

I don't know enough about their games to know if it is good or bad but everything that I read leads me to believe that we wouldn't recruit the lesser twin without the other. I would much rather have Isaiah and (fill in the blank) big than a throw in player. I know that they are both good but Isaiah and Kofi are the two '19 bigs that I want most. Until we lose them I wouldn't want to risk a scholly on a lesser talent to get one really good player. And I believe that Stewart is more highly regarded than both twins...

I haven't seen either play in person but Makhi is ranked pretty high. ESPN has him a 5 star and #21 in the country. His brother isn't a slouch, but definitely lags behind skill wise. I'm always wary of the thick body types who battle conditioning issues. Both were dominant rebounders on the UA circuit. Taking both which we would have liked to have done limits your options.
You are a lot more optomistic about Stewart than I. We don't have Broadus so it doesn't even matter in the end. They were likely to follow him all along.

IMHO Jamorko is elite and a couple other of those guys will be damn near elite before they leave the hilltop.

These kids are 2019 recruits. While I know the Hoyas recruited them and I would have been happy to see them come to Georgetown, I am not going to lose any sleep over kids committing this early, evewn if they had committed to Georgetown. With the way things have been going in college ball these days it seems that kids de-commit all the time, even a few months before actually entering school. Would not be a surprise if these two re-opened their recruitment at some point over the next year or so. Nothing against either player, I haven't seen them play and I am sure they are quality players or they would not have had so many offers but I wouldn't be shocked if this changed at some point.

The only thing I find objectionable to this recruiting was Broadus saying the UM-College Park is on par academically with Gtown. Blasphemous!

The way the staff has been able to throw their hat in with many quality 18's and 19's this recruiting "loss" shouldn't have any affect on the Hoyas recruiting. If we land a fraction of the kids we are looking at we will forget about these kids, no disrespect intended.
